Perfect solution to other less comfortable CPAP masks
The Dreamwear CPAP mask is my new favorite! After going through many masks over the years, the Dreamwear is the best mask I have ever tried.Super comfortable (I use the nose pillow that does not protrude into the nose) and excellent when I sleep on my side with zero leakage. Can use with my glasses when reading in bed. Quiet, stays in place and the hose connection on top is a gamechanger.Highly recommend the Dreamwear setup if your mouth stays shut when you sleep or occasionally sleep on your side.

... face when I sleep isn't going to make me happy, but this is the most comfortable mask I've ...
Having to wear anything around my face when I sleep isn't going to make me happy, but this is the most comfortable mask I've used. I'm very sensitive to things in general, but this mask is about is good as it gets. It doesn't make you feel claustrophobic like the nasal or complete face mask with 2 or 3 straps. I can find comfortable positions whether I'm on my side or back and with a bit of adjustment of the nasal pillow, everything works well and it's quiet. This mask does have tiny predrilled holes around the top connector and on the pillow that allows some air to escape. It's engineered this way, so don't be surprised when a bit of air leaks out from those holes. It doesn't effect my Resmed from showing I had a perfect seal every time. Since I performed my overnight stay at the sleep center, the numbers on my Resmed were adjusted and I get a score of 100 every single night. 4 stars because I just dislike having to wear anything on my face.

Side and Stomach Sleepers - there is hope! Update: Still Happy
What do you do about Sleep Apnea when you never expected to have it??? You start looking at websites for machines and masks then realize none of them seem to be any good for side or stomach sleepers. Eventually you discover that Respironics Dreamwear may be the answer and might be something that you'll actually use! I don't even have the CPAP machine (yet) but I bought this gear because it looks so much better than the other contraptions available in the DME offices. I tried it on and it is simple and straightforward. I'll wear it for practice (like the sleep apnea treatment booklets suggest) and I'll take it to titration. Just having this on hand on gives me hope that CPAP will not be the misery I thought it would be.Update - titration had me use nasal pillows and let me take the sample home. DME office did not provide a new mask since I had the sample. I used the nasal pillows for one night and woke up with a tender, sore nose in the morning. I changed to the Dreamwear the next night and I've used the machine all night long for 12 out of 14 nights. I changed from the medium cushion to the small cushion for a better fit. I also found the cushion is better when it is closer to the nose and not allowed to drop down toward the upper lip.Another update March 2018. I've used this gear exclusively and I can wear it for 5 nights out of 7 every week. I originally had this medium frame with a small cushion but the replacement from insurance was a small frame so I tried it with a medium cushion and it fits better - the frame is closer to my head. I didn't realize the medium was loose until I wore the small frame. With the smaller size, the medium cushion is working better too - it gives more air at my nose without leaking. If you are experiencing slipping during the night, it may be the frame needs to be smaller. The first frame and cushion lasted from Oct-Mar and can still be my backup in case anything happens to the second one. I still really like this mask - it allows me to move easily during the night.

A dream come true for side/stomach sleepers
When I first received my CPAP, I chose a nasal pillow mask as I couldn't stand having something cover my entire nose or lower face. The pillows were comfortable, but the problem with pillows for me was that, as a side/stomach sleeper, I had a very hard time getting into a comfortable position to sleep and even then, it was hard sleeping with a tube hanging off of my face. I often found myself waking up with a sore neck as a result of the funky way I had to position my body when I went to sleep. The nurse at my Sleep Doctor's office suggested that I try a Dreamwear mask the next time I had to get a mask replacement. After just one night of using this mask I've seen a big difference. Because the air intake is on the top of the mask as opposed to on the front, this headgear is perfect for side and stomach sleepers. My CPAP has a website where I can review sleep metrics. I'm getting better mask seal rating with the Dreamwear than I've gotten in a long time. In addition, because of the easy release top intake, if I have to get up in the middle of the night, I simply disconnect at the intake valve, do whatever I need to do, and then reconnect before going back to sleep. My old pillows mask required me to remove the mask which accelerated wear and tear on the head strap. If you are a side or stomach sleeper, I cannot recommend this mask enough. The one I bought came with small, medium, large, and medium wide nasal inserts as well as a fitting guide – just put your nose up to the guide to determine which is best for you. Unfortunately, the version I purchase came with a medium frame, so if you have a longer/wider/smaller/narrower face, you may need to purchase a separate frame so you can get the most comfortable fit and seal.
