All SNOO sacks have armholes at the shoulders for comfortability, so if your baby prefers to sleep with their arms free during naps and nights, you can certainly do that. Older babies (usually around 4-5 months) have more coordination and can sleep well with one or both hands-free. We hope this helps! If the Sleepea swaddle appears to be snug length/width-wise then it may be time to size up.

Yes! These swaddles are great because you tuck both, one, or leave both arms out. The shoulder area has snaps to close the swaddle if you want to keep your baby’s arms in. We used these to transition our son around 3 months. He now sleeps with both arms out at 5 months and we just ordered the next size up!
