Yumami goodness!
We are on our third bottle of this in about 6 months - that's how much we love it.I'm personally a fan of fermented foods and things that a sour and a little funky, so the fermented black beans in this are what make it such a favorite. Your mileage may vary, so if that flavor profile is not your thing, please buy the non black bean version of Lao Gan Ma. But if you do, congratulations. This OG LGM is for you!I've had it on fried eggs, as a base for a fried rice, and on top of pretty much anything that need a savoury flavour kick. It really is one of those kitchen saviours that you can use when things are just feeling a little blah.Is it value for money? I'd say yes. Especially since a good spoonful goes a long way. Could it be a teeny bit cheaper? Sure. But all good things cost money.

So good it became a new family member
I’ve discovered the range of Lao Gamna sauces and now we use it with everything, the most boring plain white rice becomes tasty. My favorite is the one with crispy onion flakes .but if pungent Chinese flavors are your thing, give it a try.

Good, but I had them great before, so a bit underwhelmed.
It is what it is. Plus- has lots of black beans; could have been moreish in fermentaion levels, but okay. As it seems I have become that person who is happy if it is what it is. Like, it's a bloody chilli oil, literally! But I liked better what Sprig sells, they [sprig] say it is pressed chilli oil... lierally, and I using lietrally in the right way! But you can make Lao Gan Ma style chilli crisps at home, and it would be more flavourful. I made one jar last year, it was better, only we do not get good sort of fermented black beans. Anyway, Laoganma is a popular brand, and one should give it a try.
