Sunflower Seeds, Raw, Hulled, Organic, 5# Bulk

My husband is very particular about sunflower seeds and their quality. He buys them in quantity and keeps them in the freezer until he wants to roast a batch of them. He pours them out onto a baking sheet and literally sorts through each seed to separate out a pile of all the broken or damaged or bad-looking ones and discards them before he rinses and then roasts the remaining good ones in a cast-iron skillet. He has tried to find good quality raw sunflower seeds from many different sources, and is usually very disappointed in the quality. He used to manage a health food store and is very concerned about quality because often the sunflower seeds that are sold have many seeds in the batch that are rancid. He does not want to eat rancid seeds. When he finds a nice, clean, fresh, relatively unbroken, non-rancid source of sunflower seeds it is like a miracle. These seeds are very good. Or, at least the batch we just ordered this time was very very good. That is not saying they will always be like that, but for now, he is very pleased. They are not perfect, and he has still discarded a number of them, but it is a very small percentage compared with seeds from the other sources he has tried in the past two years, where he has often rejected close to half of them. I like it because he is spending less time sorting sunflower seeds and more time enjoying life.

I have been trying to find raw unsalted organic sunflower seeds for a long time. This product fits the bill perfectly. The fact that a 5 lb bag comes with a resealable bag is a huge bonus. I eat sunflower seeds to control my blood pressure, and I like to buy them raw so I can dry roast them on my own without adding any oils or salt. These sunflower seeds are really good quality seeds. I wash about 1-2 pounds at a time, and then spread them out on a baking tray and dry roast them at 400 degrees, turning them every once in awhile. What you get in the end is crunchy, golden brown seeds that are tasty. You can tell these are quality seeds because you don't need to add any oil while dry roasting them. If sunflower seeds are of good quality, the natural oil in them will come out as you roast them and produce an awesome crunchy snack. I have already bought 3 more bags and will continue buying this product from this seller.

I use these organic raw, unsalted sunflower seeds daily, and they are absolutely wonderful. I make 2 1/2 cups of sunflower seed milk every day, and the quality is consistently excellent. I also toss them into salads, pancakes, and baked goods—they add the perfect nutty flavor and texture. I go through about 5 pounds regularly, and the value is great, especially with Subscribe & Save.Nothing goes to waste either—I give my dog the leftover seed pulp from making the milk, and he loves it! I buy and use raw sunflower seeds a lot in baking, because I am allergic to gluten.I need a high quality, organic source of seeds and nuts - and products that have obviously been processed carefully.Nothing makes me madder than to get something that is rancid or full of shells.That has NEVER happened with this company. The seeds are always fresh, smell good, taste amazing, and beautifully packaged.It does crack me up to read all the messages printed on their packing.I will be a repeat customer of these folks for life!

The first time I bought this size and brand; I gave it 5 stars and loved it. Second purchase was small seeds and taste less than ordinary. So, I ordered a smaller pack (1 lb. I think) and it was great tasting and normal seed size. Thinking that one time was a fluke I ordered it now in the big size and it is same small seeds. I am not even opening it. Will return it today. Inconsistent quality is a bad thing.

I recently researched the prices for raw, organic, hulled sunflower seeds on various bulk foods web sites. This product on Amazon had the best price. It arrived promptly, thanks to Prime shipping, and has proven to be quite satisfactory. We snack on 'em by the handful, sprinkle them on bowls of packaged breakfast cereal, stir them into home-made granola, and spoon them into a daily green smoothie to thicken the mix. Unlike other bulk seeds I've bought in the past, this came with a re-sealable closure strip - nice!

They arrived quickly & well packaged. The seeds are fresh, crunchy, uniform in size & color. Why only 2 stars? The bag indicates that these sunflower seeds are a product of China. I don't really trust anything coming from China, especially organic food. I had ordered the Food To Live brand previously, but they weren't available when I needed to reorder, so I decided to try these. I will go back to the Food To Live brand for my next order of sunflower seeds. I can't believe that Sincerely Nuts can't find a closer & better source for their organic product than China.

We eat a lot of sunflower seeds as I make a snack mix with them, healthy one. These are a little bigger which I really like and tasty and fresh.
