Exceeded My Expectations And Performance Is Beyond a 10!!!! (Authenticity Guaranteed)
I just took my MontBlanc Fountain Pen to an authorised dealer of Montblanc who also sells both similar and the same models of the Meisterstuck 149 Fountain Pen. The product itself is 100% authentic and has original packaging and papers (service guide) that comes with it. When the Montblanc Meisterstuck Fountain Pen arrived, I was expecting the fountain pen itself to have some weight in the pen, I did not expect that the Montblanc 149 Meisterstuck Fountain Pen would be extremely lightweight due to its enormous size of a fountain pen. Here are 4 things to look for when I tested many factors to check if the Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen is authentic over a counterfeit:•When shining a bright light, the body of the Montblanc Pen should reflect a wine-red-like colour in despite the resin is dark black-red. You cannot see the wine red colour in just plain lighting, it must be shined with a bright light.•Under the fountain pen clip, Montblanc no longer uses the word 'Pix' in their Fountain Pens in newer generation Montblanc Fountain Pens as counterfeit manufacturers are using 'Pix' in counterfeit Montblanc as well. Just to look for under the clip of the Montblanc Pen, it should read as: "Made In Germany, Metal."•On the cap ring of the Montblanc Pen there should be a 9 digit code. Each Montblanc Gold-Coated Fountain Pen has a 9 digit distinctive code. The code must include 6 letters and 3 numbers, and it also shows to my fountain pen that the serial number of the Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen has 6 letters and 3 numbers.•And last but not least, I searched up in google named 'Montblanc UPC & Barcode' website to prove that the Montblanc 149 previously purchased was authentic. Looking at the barcode of the Montblanc box, the barcode shall specifically have a 13 digit barcode that is all in numbers. I searched up the 13 digit barcode in an authenticity check website (Montblanc UPC & Barcode) for barcodes and it also seems that my Montblanc Fountain Pen was purchased in 12 July 2022! If your item exist by the following 13 digit code, then it is also a sign of authenticity. However, the fountain pen is brand new and there is no worry that the fountain pen you order from this seller is pre-owned. So overall, this fountain pen is 100% authentic guaranteed.

A Classic for the Ages.
Black, 18K gold nib and gold-colored hardware, cigar-shaped, and 8oversized, the 149 has retained its appearance and attributes for some 70 years. New, it is overly expensive ($1.2K), but you can buy a used one got half that price or less. This pen is akin to a Leica camera in terms of its quality and workmanship. It’s a large pen. Give it a try first - the 146 might suit you better. It is comfortable as a writer, and stores a generous ink via a simple and functional piston mechanism, able to handle the longest of writing sessions without refilling. There’s a wide variety of nib types. No it’s not like the Pelicans where you unscrew one nib and easily replace it with another. I ordered the Fine. An ultra smooth writing experience, the ink flow is just the right - not too much, not too little. 0f course, as with all quality fountain pens, do choose good quality stationery in order to experience the very best writing capabilities this superb instrument has to offer. With the proper care and maintenance the 149 could end up as a gifted heirloom to your family.

Authentic but initial details raised flags
Low price point and purchase via mail brought trepidation. Assured by Amazon's stalwart return policy I ordered this pen. Here are the procceses I used to authenticate this pen and my observences. The pen arrives in a MontBlanc box with the correct manual but the manual failed to have any stamps or identifying serial numbers on the last page, like you would expect. The outer portion of the box did have a myraid of upc code taped on and actually obscurring the only correct reference to the serial number found on the pen. Only after careful inspection with a magnifier was it clear and a match to the number found on the clip ring of the pen cap. Beneath the pen clip the inscription "made in Germany" was found, no "Pix" or anything similar. The box made reference to date of manufacture of 7/19. Finding pix would have made me feel better, but I carried on. A bright LED through the pen body revealed the red wine glow that is common on the precious resin of MontBlanc pens so that was encouraging. The nib showed no magnetic attraction, verifying it's gold content which was good. All inscriptions, gold plating, MontBlanc star on the cap and fit and finish we're good. At this point I felt assured I had an authentic pen. It will be awhile before I can ink it up but I hope my advice on authentication helps other fearful purchasers. For me I'm a happy pen owner.

Buy From This Seller With Confidence
I'm a fountain pen collector (and user) and have a number of Montblanc pens. This pen is authentic. It has the serial number engraved on the clip ring, engraving under the clip, strong and crisp engraving on the cap ring as well as on the tri-color nib, and when you take the pen into a dark room and shine a flashlight through the cap and barrel, you'll find that the plastic ("precious resin" in Montblanc-speak) is actually a very deep red and not black. As far as I know, counterfeiters have not been able to replicate that deep red/black plastic. Final test: sweet, smooth writing from an awesome nib.I ordered the pen on a Monday, and it was shipped over 2000 miles to reach me by that Wednesday -- can't beat that for service from this seller!
