Top quality
Great set with a nice sturdy case, engravings are clear even when dirty. Well made and very precise. Top quality, on par with my snap on sockets

Not any better than the entry level sets at the big box stores
I just received it 20 minutes ago and I tested out the rachet with the 2 extensions attached and some sockets attached a few minutes later. This Tekton set doesnt deserve the rave reviews it gets. There is considerable wobble and play in the rachet head when you attach extensions or sockets to it. This will result in you breaking bolts or busting the bolt out of whichever housing it is currently secured to.I have broken a few bolts on my car engine while working with basic sockets and rachets in the past, so I know the danger of using tools that have too much play/wobble in them. I ordered this Tekton set thinking that it wouldnt have the same play/wobble that the more basic sets have. But, unfortunately, this set is no better than any basic set you can buy at numerous stores..If breaking the occassional bolt while working on your car doesnt bother you, or if damaging a wood table that you are putting together because you didnt drive the fastener straight in as you intended, then yes, buy this set. If those things will bother you, then dont buy this set.Tekton has to go to the manufacturer and tell them to make a rachet that has lateral support inside the rachet head so there isnt so much movement in use while using extensions and sockets. Virtually all sets that arent professional quality, seem to suffer from this drawback. Its getting beyond frustrating trying to find a decent set that doesnt cost the same as Snap-On or SK does. But 20 years ago, every basic set was manufactured to better standards. It was easy back then. Now, its so hard to find a good quality socket set.I think it would be impossible for a professional to use this set. And even a shade-tree mechanic couldnt use this set without running into problems.

Best value, but not the best quality
By no means is this the best set out there however, at this price point it's undoubtably the best you're going to get! This is a perfect set for any DIYer. I picked up a 1/4 set and 3/8 set for the house and it's more than enough for my purpose. If you're a professional or want the best quality money can buy I'd go with SK (or snap on, which is just ridiculously priced), but if you're someone like me who uses sockets once in a blue moon for small home projects with the occasional use on the car, tekton is hard to beat for the value. Feels like the sets will hold up well over time and tekton warranty is excellent, so this should be the last set I buy (will try to upgrade the rachet if I can find something that fits in the box, but no biggie if I cant).Pros:- Good fit/finish for price paid- No skip sizes, good range of sockets- Improved rachet (from the previous 72T)- Solid case, parts hold in place- 1/4 set has perfect sized rachet- Great utilization of space, compact size- sets stack ontop of one another nicely for storage- find the red colour box a nice change from the typical black (subjective)- extensions are a nice addition- low profile rachets will allow you to get into tight spaces, most rachets dont give you this flexibilityCons:- 3/8 set ratchet a tad short, for high torque you will have to buy the 1/2 set- Slight wobble when sockets locked in, although still secure (my sk and snap on rachets dont have this problem)- rachet feel in the hard not as nice as others- ratchets dont have that solid weight to them, cheap compared to others like sk- switch on rachets noticeably cheaper and flimsier than other rachets I own- sizes etched into sockets are small and not as visible as other brands- 1/4 set does not display socket sizes on the physical box itself (where the 3/8 set has the sizes etched into box, tekton should include thiss with all their sets)- product does not display where it's made (misleading because it's a USA conpany, but from my research found out they are made in Tiwan)- rachets very slippery, if you're working with oil you will have issues. I'd recommend the sk rachet which has nurling for better gripOverall if you're not picky, want a lifetime set at a good price just buy it, you wont find better value with any other brand (trust me I've searched!). If you want the absolute best, top quality stuff then pay the extra money and get a professional set, this will fall slightly short of your expectations. It's a really nice set, but doesnt have the same luxury feel as if for ex you had a snap on set.Bottom line: You get MORE than what you pay for with this set! If you're considering, just buy it.. you wont regret the purchase.

Great Set for the Price
Bought this 3/8 Socket set back in 2019. As a heavy equipment mechanic I have been using and often abusing these tools on a daily basis ever since. The Ratchet is fairly fine tooth and still functions well, and I have yet to split or shatter any of the sockets despite frequent use on a Cordless impact gun ( which for those that don't know is prone to shattering chrome sockets). Even the plastic case is still together although that is more just luck cause all Molded plastic tool cases will break if dropped or hit hard enough.I purchased as a cheap set to be abused when needed and this set has been up to task.

Endures daily industrial use
I've been using this set daily as an industrial mechanic and I absolutely love it. It's well laid out and doesn't include 50 useless bits and adapters like most big box store sets. The ratchet is well designed, has a unusually long handle and a compact head. It has a very light back drag. The L/R lever is very hard to switch by accident, which is a complaint I have of many cheaper ratchets. It shows no signs of wear after four months of harsh daily use.I can't recommend this set enough.
