Sturdy and Simple
The reviewer claiming the ball joints don't lock... took me 5 minutes of messing around trying to twist them tight before I realized they do not (there are no directions included). They are freely-rotating. Only ONE knob will tighten the entire thing. So, the trick is to loosen the middle joint knob, swing everything to where you want it, then tighten that middle joint knob. It will pull the rest tight. In other words, you have only 2 knobs to tighten for positioning - first the clamp, then the middle joint. Done.I am only mounting a lightweight web cam above an MPC to capture the LCD display as I stream, so I cannot really speak to how much weight it could handle, but it FEELS very solid, like it could handle much more. The one reviewer with the stripped out clamp knob scared me a little. If you are familliar with this style, you should be fine. They are not meant for super-tightening around oddly shaped ledges. Find something solid that the pads will rotate to give balanced/parallel pressure on, and you don't need to go all Hulk on it. Mine is attached upside down to the bottom of a homemade pedal board that is about 1/2" thick ply with velcro glued all around it. This grabs onto that just fine. One warning, though... because of its simplicity, having only that one knob, you will forget and loosen it and the entire thing will flop down, banging up whatever you have mounted. Always remember to have one hand on it when you loosen to adjust to keep it from going completely limp and falling downward. Remember that one knob loosens everything, as well. The price is way too high for a Chinalloy metal rig. I'll give everyone that much. About $38USD at time of this writing. This is definitely a $20 mount. This is not a $40 mount.

It works well, great value.
At first I thought it was complicated, but it turns out it's very simple and versatile. A simple solution at a great price point.

Good quality for the cost
With 7" monitor and battery attached, needs extra force to remain upright and stable

Nice arm
Works great. I use another cell phone mount. The rubber pads allow for a little movement when on my desk but a great arm for the price.

Extremely sturdy, stable and versatile.
The best purchase in years! Excellent quality and for being as compact as it is, it exceeds all our expectations. Can’t figure out how we did without this. A definite game changer.

Strong Clamp, Handle needs improvement
I really like this clamp. Needed something to clamp on flat surfaces but also can grip irregular shapes.Only problem I have is when tightening something the first time, the red handle became loose. I plan to apply red lock-tight on the threads and reapply the handle. May need to add a fastener to the handle to keep it locked to the shift. Why go thru all this? The clamp has great potential.
