Haribo Super Piratos

I grew up with this exact licorice from Denmark!! Absolutely the best, saltiest licorice anywhere!!!

Having been surrounded by all manner of salmiak confections my whole life, this is by far the most favorite of mine that is commercially available from Amazon.

Best candy that Denmark is known for. I love them. My favorite and best candy. Reminds me of my time back in Dk. I do hope they come back. I will buy again and again!

I'm born and raised in Denmark so I have had a lot of Piratos growing up. These don't taste the same. They have a metallicky taste initially. It goes away but it hits you as soon as you put them in your mouth.

A Danish friend recommended these as the very best of the salted licorices (I'm American). I like salt, I like black licorice, I thought I would like these. I eagerly awaited their arrival. I ate one, then threw the bag away. The taste of the salt is overpowering. It doesn't even taste like normal salt, it has a chemical taste to it. I know some things are acquired tastes, but the Haribo Piratos aren't a taste I want to acquire. I may try salted licorice again with a different brand, but never again with the Piratos..
