It will all turn out okay!
I spent a very enjoyable day popping in and out of Annabel Monaghan's life. Her observations on motherhood, marriage, and all things family related rang true -- and her honesty made me laugh and think. My favorite description was of her teenage son, who knew every stat on every NBA player, but had no idea "it was a thing" that if he left the chicken out of the fridge all night, it would go bad. Somehow that really summed up both the joy and the frustration of raising children. Although I know it would have made Ms. Monaghan a different mother in some ways, I kind of wished she had a daughter too, so I could have heard her reflections on the issues specific to raising girls. The bottom line is that Ms. Monaghan makes you feel that if you parent with a lot of good will and an enormous sense of humor, you will be fine, and your kids probably will too!

Mix of Essays
Hard to rank a book that’s a collection of essays, but I’d say it’s a quick easy read with relatability and light humor

Laughing my butt off for hours
I bought this book because II loved the author's YA books, Digit and Double Digit. However, I'm not so big on books that share mommy woes, which was what I thought this was about. Well, yes, there are some mommy woes here, but it's hilarious. I've been laughing my butt off for hours. If you want to read something that's honest and will make you laugh tears, get this book. It's absolutely brilliant.

LOVED this book so much
LOVED this book so much. She had me at the title, Does This Volvo Make My Butt Look Big?. The collection of essays for mothers “and other tired people” makes me laugh out loud and shake my head with recognition. From birthday party throwing etiquette to what summer vacation tans really look like, it’s a nice respite from our holiday madness. It also includes a forward from one of my favorite authors, Lee Woodruff, whom Annabel knows. Jealous!
