Gets 5 for fitting and working good
Now... it's bulky for my Ruger 380 Security but it's not really made for concealment. The gun itself is basically the same size as the Ruger Security 9 Compact. I ain't hiding anyone in this puppy based on the clothes I wear, unless I start wearing trench coats. The bottom of it does look kind of like a weird battery pack or something and not obviously a gun if it's peeking from under your jacket so I guess that's something. And again - never supposed to be a "you can't find the gun hidden on me!" holster was it.That said, the pistol STAYS PUT and the button draw seems easy and intuitive. So that's a good compromise of safety and drawability I think. It feels nice in jeans with the paddle installed. I even had a "low sit" on a very low stoop wearing this and it was still comfortable. Again, it's pretty big but what did I expect when I added a TRL-1? You're gonna want that at night or in your dark house though, aren't ya.So I'm happy with it overall. Just don't expect to surprise anyone that you're strapped up... unless you wear some hella baggy clothes with which you can still reasonably quickly access the gun.

Great holster and it fits the Steyr m9!
Ok, so this holster does exactly what i wanted in every facet of the game.Thumb drive release works great though there is not much of an audible click when the light locks in. I have not had the issue with the pistol getting stuck as some have have, but it looks like that issue might stem from the mounting thumb screw on the light, just make sure the two raised nips are horizontal in relation to the muzzle of the pistol and it shouldnt be an issue.Keep in mind, this holster is HUGE, its a tactical holster and will be fairly difficult to concealed carry with, i didnt buy it for that so its not an issue for me, but its just something to keep in mind. When using the blackhawk SERPA Quick Disconnect system the holster mounts comfortably and solidly to all serpa platforms including the thigh holster which everyone seems to be having an issue with. I have all of my serpa holsters set up with the QD mounts so it was a no brainer for me.I have tried this with every full size and compact pistol i have with a rail. it fit ALMOST everything perfectly. Basically as long as the tlr-1 or 2 light fit the pistol, it will fit in the holster.YES THIS HOLSTER WILL FIT A STEYR M9-A1 there is plenty of room. I know the holsters for the steyr pistols are hard to come by so i figured that deserved special mention. Mine is the M variant but it should work fine with the L9-A1 (or the other calibers .40 and .357sig)other pistols i have tested with itm&p 45sig 226rsig 1911 traditional tac opshk p30beretta px4springfield xd 45 tacticalPolymer 80 glock build (polymer 80 frame and slide)TLR 1 would not fit (therefore the holster will not work with)hk45cMagnum Research MR9 eagle (walther p99 licensed clone)Springfield XD 45 mod 2 sub compact (not a surprise as its a sub compact, but i figured id mention it)I do not have any of those Recover tactical rail grips they make for the 1911 and beretta 92, but the way the holster is designed I dont see why they wouldnt work, but if someone does have one, they will probably mention it in a review.I'm very happy with this holster and because of its versatility ill probably never need another one, BUT if i did, i wouldnt hesitate to buy one

Surprisingly well thought out
I decided to try this holster based on a desire for more of a universal fit holster that doesn't limit me to a single handgun. I was using "Surplus Special" nylon drop leg and MOLLE holsters for that purpose but something with a bit more speed in the draw is what I was after. I finally found a use for my old Streamlight TLR-1 that I've had laying around for years. My initial impressions of the Blackhawk Omnivore holster were favorable except the holstered handgun would wobble a bit which I actually expected since its a universal design. Little did I know just how much thought Blackhawk put into the Omnivore. In the package I found some other parts that had me scratching my head. I finally broke down and read the instructions. The holster came with spacers which help aid in providing stability to the holstered firearm so they help the holster wrap around it a bit more to ensure it stays in place. I don't know if Blackhawk always included these spacers or if they were added after feedback from the end users of the Omnivore complaining about their handgun rattling around. With that it also has passive friction retention so it is a true Level II retention holster and the different size thumb release pads are a well thought out touch. For a sub 50 dollar holster that fits over 150 different handguns including my FN 509 Tactical with optic, I'm honestly impressed. I only give four stars as I haven't had the chance to test it at the range yet. I didn't have high expectations for this holster so I was pleasantly surprised just how much went into designing it.

Better than I expected
Well thought out and developed product. As advertised, it fits a wide variety of guns so long as they have the right weapon light mounted.
