would give 5 stars but? now can
like the sound very good for small speakers bit more bass would be nice but doesn't bother me battery life good and the light comes in handy for power cuts app not so good very simple. now for the problem cant connect to each other tried for ages but you press Bluetooth button twice as instructed light should change and they should pair with each other as I have two no way the only way the work together is if you have super Bluetooth which I have on my phone but not my tablet which is the main one for music. so knocked a star off real pity. UPDATE Now it gets 5 stars got them to connect together you connect one to app then two short presses then turn other on long press on Bluetooth button to disconnect then on and two more short presses and it works.

Perfect for the garden.
So pleased with this item. The sound is good, the light is bright and it's sturdy, but easy to carry.

Good for music. Poor for microphone and PA entertainers use.
So I needed to buy a new PA as my Fenton PA’s battery had lost some of its charge during lockdown. I saw this new ion model was released in February 2022 and had a 10 hour charge. So figured it would be the latest in PA technology. Sadly, after 90 minutes of use at a party, I switched back to my old Fenton.Let me start by saying that when you turn it on, it automatically looks for a bluetooth devise. It does this every time, even with a USB stick plugged in. So you have to wait for it not to find anything before it selects the USB stick. This devise was made primarily for bluetooth devises. I however play my songs from a mini-USB in mp3 format. I have over 200 songs on the stick and trying to jump from track 1 to track 30 or any other number was a nightmare. The turn button does not change tracks. You can press the next track button, but it had a delay between registering. So pressing the button 30 times might get you to track 17. Basically, the USB functionality was dreadful. There is no remote to jump to a particular track with and its almost pot luck what track it chooses to play.Sound quality for the music however was great. I will add that once you get into the bass / treble settings (called high / low in this devise) you have some great sounds.Unfortunately all the various sound features are worked through the same turn nob. This includes the usb, the mic, the low, the high and overall volume. Sadly it automatically resets to the overall volume after a few seconds of not touching. So if you want to turn the music down but talk in the microphone; thats not possible; it turns them both down instead. Now you can go into the settings and select “source” volume. But when your in the middle of a show, thats just not possible. Also, with my old Fenton, each control had its own button and I could just turn the one I wanted. This ION just doesn't give me that same control.Next we have the volume level. Its listed at 300w, which is just about good enough for a hall of 20 children. My 700w Fenton can handle 40 children. My 800w Fenton can handle 50 children. The battery might be nice at 10 hours (if its lasts that long - I never tested its duration). But it weighed a lot. My old QTX was heavy and this matched that. I hate to keep comparing it to my Fenton, but I could lift that with my pinkie it was so light. The weight was off-putting compared to my other PAs.And now we have the main problem (for me at least). The microphone quality is unacceptable. It sounded better than the JVC boombox, but I hate to say it, worse than both my Fenton PA’s. It had an electronic tone that I didn’t like. The volume level was also weird. At times it felt loud, then too quiet. I couldn’t get a consistent level. Maybe if I played through all the high / low settings each time I might get something better - but when on stage I just cant stop the show and ask the audience to wait for me while I mess with the controls. The disco lights at the front were fine. However there was a single blue LED light that never went off. It just drains power and distracts people. It looks like a record light which raises suspicion. This was unacceptable as I work with children. It has no radio mic features what-so-ever. All other PA’s have this as standard now. This was made for a house party to play music with from a phone via blu tooth. In that regards it does that job fine. However it was not made to use as a PA or play music from a USB.Back to my Fenton it is.

Utter rubbish
Completely useless as anything other than a paperweight.

The low end is simply not good enough
So I bought these speakers to DJ with; I wanted some punchy bass with good high end! The problem is that when you turn the bass up, the mid frequency sounds are automatically dimmed. If you turn the high frequency sounds right up, the bass is compromised. It’s like there’s a certain amount of energy the unit is able to put out and you can’t go above that! This makes for pretty poor performances when playing genres like house, DnB and dubstep; especially during drops. The speakers have do fantastic volume and ease of use however! The appearance and lighting of the speakers is very cool.
