Great Set But The Figures Won't Blend In Seamlessly
This 3-pack of vipers is a fine addition to any Cobra army but be warned, these vipers won't play well with other vipers! The sculpt is identical to the Target exclusive Scalper Island (sorry, Cobra Island) vipers, and the accessories are nearly identical as well, but there some additions here that definitely set this pack apart. The officer has a unique pistol and all three have more realistic combat rifles instead of the Target viper's futuristic rifle. The pack also comes with two Target viper rifles and an assortment of blast and smoke effects. All of the rifles have detachable magazines, and the effects are compatible with all of them: even the underbarrel grenade launcher accepts effects. Lastly, there is a suppressor that can be attached to any weapon, even the grenade launcher. The officer's pistol has a fair paint job, but the red paint is a bit too thin and you get some black bleed-through, especially on the top of the pistol. The fanged skull on the grip is a nice touch.Paint is where you'll see the biggest difference, and I'm not talking about the difference between the officer and his two vipers. I'm talking about the difference between the Target viper and this pack. The vivid reds and blues and the shiny faceplate are all dulled down to a bleakness that feels completely put of place with nearly all of the figures in the Classified lineup: even the black body armor is dull and faded. If it were just the officer, I could chalk that up to him being just that; an officer. Unfortunately, its is a huge, glaring difference that can't be missed when you pose Target vipers with these guys. Overall, the paint on the new vipers looks good, but I do have some stray red paint on the helmet of one of them (it's not especially noticeable). The packaging is more of the same windowless, plastic-free business that we got with the recently released blue ninja 2-pack. The "locker" for this pack was just a black box that sat above the figures. I'm becoming used to it, and I do like the box art.Am I happy I bought these figures? Yeah, I guess so, but I'm not overwhelmed. At least not like I was with the blue ninjas, but maybe that's because I already own Target vipers and was a little dismayed by the color difference. Do I think you are getting fair value for this pack? Probably not. The ninja 2-pack was half of this pack's price at roughly $45, and even though you get 3 figures here and an arsenal of weapons and accessories, I'm not sure it warrants and almost $100 price point. Anybody who already owns Target vipers in a comfortable number can safely pass on this unless they really want that viper officer or the accessories.

Great addition to GI Joe collection!
Great figures. Joints, weapons, and those blast effects are all great. The Articulation is nice, typical of the classified series. Perfect for army building. Fun for photography as well as seen above. I recommend. Only complaint is the backpacks and goggles like to slip off occasionally. But other than that they’re pretty great.

The Double Cross...1st image. The Double Cross (continuies) 2nd image.
The Double Cross (continues): A third Cobra, Cobra Soldier, was in the rafters too and comes down hanging from the rafters, attempts to take out Dusty. COOOOOBRAAAA LALALALA!As you can see, the figures worked out just fine for my Diorama Electronic P.C. Battlefield. The added blasts of bullet residue and smoke from the rifle tips really add shock and awe value to the setup. They give a-lot for the asking price and what you do with them, is the limit to your imagination.

Nice fast Army Build set
If you need a squad of bad guys all in one box you can't go wrong with this set of Vipers and an Officer. Now the three figures are largely identical molds. The 2 Viper Troopers are in a Blue and Red scheme with red markings and the Officer is Grey and Red with gold markings. The only differences between the figures is some paint work and weapons choices. They all share the same pistol although the officers has some red paint work. The set has 4 different rifles. So each trooper can and does carry a different weapons load. Which does a good job of setting them apart. The single best element of this set. The most useful to the collector/photographer types is it comes with a full set of gun blast effects. So you can get the nice look of the various guns firing in various distinct ways. The effects set is the same as the one that will be coming in the GI Joe Steel Corps 2 pack coming in November. Whichever way you get them those effects are must have for the 1/12 scale figure collector. The one accesory I cannot figure out is the set comes with three pairs of goggles. 2 Silver and 1 gold. They don't make sense for these figures as they are helmeted with visors. There is no face underneath. The pictures show the goggles perched on top of their helmets, which doesn't make a ton of sense.

All the hips are floppy and the goggles do nothing
This 3-pack is a good buy for $50, Hasbro has done a good job with the G.I. Joe Classified line and these Vipers show off all that detail and articulation. There are enough guns and accessories to go around, some of the muzzle blast effects can even stack for custom looks. The rifles are variants of the same base model, one is a sniper, one a standard AR, and one is a SMG. The other two are identical to each other, they look like scifi shoguns but can be anything you want simply by swapping the muzzle flares. All their magazines are removable. The pistols can all be stored in the thigh holsters. One annoying thing about them though is that while the hips have an added pivot to tilt them up/down, it quickly gets loose, so you end up with floppy hips. You also have to be careful not to snap the pivot part when cranking on the legs. The backpacks, despite being made of two separate parts, were glued together instead of leaving them hollow. I think this is a wasted opportunity, we could have stored something in there, like the magazines or goggles that don't want to stay on the helmets.
