Perfect for the old fashions I'm crazy about.
These oversized stainless steel “ice balls” work really great and are the perfect size. I got them earlier this week and have been using them every afternoon since. I couldn't be happier. The gel inside gets them really cold and my old fashioned doesn't get diluted by melting ice! I like these so much that I may give them as gifts, which will be perfect because they come with a beautiful bag for storage and an ice tong for getting the ball into and out of the glass, all in a presentation box one would be proud to receive. Love this purchase!

Cools drinks fast, stays cold
I love these! The little tongs are perfect and seem delightfully posh, and the spheres themselves are hefty and smooth with a premium feel. Once frozen, the metal transfers heat quickly to cool your drink, but since they are filled with fluid they can sap more heat away than a solid piece of metal by taking advantage of the melting heat requirement for phase change. I've used plastic fluid-filled ice cubes in the past and also solid metal chilling devices, and this product functions better than both. The plastic ones gave a strange taste and appeared gimmicky, while the solid metal ones didn't maintain the drink's coolness over time. I pair them with an insulated glass, and by the time I finish my drink, they are still cold enough to the touch to be uncomfortable to hold for too long when I take them out for cleaning.

So cold, soda freezes on the bottom of the glass!
After our refrigerator's ice-maker became "whimsical," I was tasked with being the keeper-of-the-cubes. No discussions or arbitration of any sort were involved. Sooo, I tried the large-cube, silicone ice "trays." They can impart tastes and/or smells until they've toured the dishwasher 1/2 a dozen times or more. Plus, they don't reach the bottom of most glasses, the silicone-made cubes being actual, ummm, cubes, stop as soon as most glasses begin to taper. These never melt and water down the drink. They make it colder that it was when you poured it. Nothing gets filled and gingerly coaxed back into the freezer. A quick soap-and-water sponge, rinse, towel dry, then back into their pull-string bag and in to the freezer. The included tongs allow you to deftly lower your steel spheres into your glass, w/o allowing them to crash to the bottom.I don't consume alcohol, but love beverages as cold as possible. These almost "iced" the liquid at the bottom of the glass. Like them so much, already gifting a sent to a bourbon-loving friend.BobKay

Great product!
They freeze in a couple of hours and are good for 2-3 glasses of whiskey. Easy to clean and store in the provided bag.

Just a bit large
Tried these in highball glasses with good scotch. They’re ok keeping the liquor cold, but they are just too large for a normal highball glass. They bang your teeth.

Great Whiskey Stones
I bought these to recreate drinks from Disney's Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, which had used a similar whiskey stone in some of their cocktails. They freeze easily, clean up easily, and come with a set of tongs. The steel balls aren't buoyant, they don't float, so word of warning the first time you pull back on a drink to take a sip, the ball will roll over to the side and make a clink noise when it hits the glass. Be sure to pick a nice thick glass for your cocktails. My double old-fashioned glass didn't break, but every clink made me cringe.

I tried them.
I prefer Ice. You have to be careful when you drink that the steel ball doesn't hit your teeth, and the frozen ball does not cool the drink nearly as fast as ice. These will go on a rummage sale.
