Excellent product for my cat
On June 3, 2013, I took my cat to the Vet believing he may have Feline Leukemia. He had lost weight and wasn't eating right. The only thing I could get down him was bits of sardines, cream of chicken soup, and broth and I had to stand there and coach him to do it. For one week, while waiting for my Vet appointment, I prepared myself to let him go because I thought nothing could be done for him. I was extremely emotional over this whole thing, as the thought of putting him down just tore me up inside. I've had my cat for 13 years and he's my companion and best friend. I adore him.Long story short, and after about $300.00 of blood test, etc., and another three days of waiting for the lab results to see if he had a blood disorder --- we found out that Mikey was anemic. You can imagine my relief when I realized I didn't have to put him down. My daughter and granddaughter were with me that day for support and we were all so relieved and quite emotional when we found out he was going to live. The Vet had me purchase iron pills at Walmart (325 mg Ferrous Sulfate) and cut them in quarters, giving him 1/4 daily, which I did, and all went well with that for about a week. Then something inside of me told me to check Amazon for a liquid iron supplement for cats. And that's when I found Liqui-Tinic 4X. I printed out the fact page and gave it to my Vet for review. She called me back and gave me the go-ahead to try it.Honestly, I noticed a big change in his eating habits within two days. For one month I gave him two 1-mL treatments a day. And just recently I've upped him to three 1-mL daily treatments. Also the consistency of his bowel movements are so much better since using this product. Mikey is a big (tall) cat: a red point Siamese. When I took him to the Vet a month ago he was 13 pounds. He had lost 7 pounds. I'd like to see him gain at least three pounds back. It took him months to lose the weight and it will take him a few to gain some of it back.Soon I'll be taking him in for another blood test to re-check his iron. But in the meantime, I am so happy with Liqui-Tinic 4X. It's very easy to administer. My cat doesn't mind it, even though he does kind of shy from me when he sees the bottle. But that's only because he doesn't like anything stuck in his mouth by me. I'm going to keep him on this product for life. I take daily vitamins and now my cat does, too.The only draw back, if you want to call it one, is measuring the 1-mL in the dropper. But I found a solution that works for me. If you keep the dropper in the bottle and squeeze the black topper a couple of times, and shake the bottle while doing this, it fills the dropper up. So then all you do is release a little liquid back into the bottle until you reach the line that is marked 1-mL. I do this after each treament so the dropper is ready for the next use.I hope this review helps. This is a great product and I will keep Mikey on it for the rest of his life.CB

Saved my cat
In October, my 3-year-old cat started licking the floor and eating litter. In a month she became severely anemic. We went to an emergency clinic, where a "doctor" did a false-positive FeLV test and recommended euthanasia. Unwilling to give up, I took her to another clinic where they performed a blood transfusion due to her dangerously low PCV of 8%. At that point, I started giving her this iron supplement, along with a lengthy prednisolone therapy. After a few weeks, we halted the supplement upon the vet's advice that it might make her nauseous and was not too useful overall in her case.Months passed, and yet no one was able to confirm any diagnosis. Possible causes ranged from cancer and FeLV (after 1 false-positive and 3 negative tests) to an autoimmune disease. When I asked about iron deficient anemia, I was told that "It is extremely unlikely". Later we were advised to reduce the prednisolone dosage, which led to her condition worsening once again. PCV went down by 7 points in 2 weeks. We were suggested to stop pred therapy and make a bone marrow punction for ~$1000.However, I decided to reintroduce this iron supplement. Two months later, my cat is as lively as ever. Her regular blood tests show perfect results, PCV went up and her condition is stable.I feel extremely fortunate to have found this supplement and to have read the reviews. They described the exact symptoms my cat was experiencing. I strongly recommend this iron supplement to other cat owners who may be experiencing similar issues. It's been a lifesaver for us.

Good product/Update= Great Product
I haven't noticed a difference in my kitty yet. But he is due for a checkup and so I'm hoping his blood work will tell if this is helping. I'd hoped to see his nose become a darker shade of pink.Update (12/19/17): still haven't noticed much of a difference in my kitty and his bloodwork hasn't improved all that much. Vet said to increase dose a bit. I've titrated his dose up over the last few weeks. More waiting to see. All in all at least it's not hurting to try :)Ps. I've noticed he prefers this mixed in with tuna like the BFF canned but it's rich flavor is hard to mask in other foods he likes such as Waruva Kawabooty (spelling??).2nd Update: After following my vets direction to increase the dose, because my cat is much bigger than the average kitty, I'm PLEASED to report back that my kitty has improved tremendously! His bloodwork shows a significant improvement!! And even though I had read that his nose should regain a darker color this apparently isn't always the case.I'm so happy I stuck with this product!! I just didn't want to give too much and so it took a bit longer to get to the desired results. So, now I've changed my rating to reflect the outcome. I've definitely learned a good lesson about patience! If your kitty is in need of an iron supplement if certainly give this a try, work with your vet, and consider your cat's weight. Mine is a big ole kitty that's about 24 inches long and weighs about 28lbs. He gets his size from being part Maine Coon.
