This charges and discharges thru the same wires.I have several of these in solar battery storage setup. There is no charger with this item

Q: can these packs be connected together in parallel?

yes, I have a dozen on a common buss feeding my hybrid controller.

Q: True nickle or nickle plated steel?

True Nickel from my experience.

Q: What charger will be used with this battery pack ?

A charger that will charge to 54.6 volts, but battery type would dictake the speed of the recharge. I would recommend a power supply Constant Voltage and Constant Current Operation.
