Q: I'm recovering from ankle & 5th metarsal breaks. In addition to the ankle, will this brace support the 5th metatarsal or irritate it?

The AFTR is able to be trimmed in length and would definitely support your ankle. If the brace irritates the metatarsal you can trim it so that is does not interfere. However, I would suggest our AFTR DC brace - this version of the brace is a front closure so you can adjust it down as swelling decreases. If you search BioSkin AFTR DC it should come up. Q: Is there a size chart I need this for my 9 yr old

Hello, there is a size chart listed as the second image in this listing. If you measure from the back of the heal around the inside crest of the ankle and back to the heal, you can compare that number to the size chart and select the correct size. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Q: Will this help with peroneus tertius tenon pain?

I really don’t know. I have an ankle that was crushed and rebuilt in 1995 and since then has deteriorated severely so much so that an ankle replacement is recommended but I cannot do at this time and I use this to help when the pain is so severe that I cannot walk. It gives me the support that will not allow my ankle to “wobble” so that I can walk. It does not relieve the pain but it does allow me to put weight on the ankle. I’m sorry I could not give you a better answer.
