Replaced a 22 year old controller that was acting weird. This new on was easy to install but took some trial and error to learn operation. Finally figured it out . 84 year old customer

A great controller. Six stations perfect control of sprinklers and drip irrigation.Super easy to install and set up.Replaced the same unit that was ten years old.It finally began to miss stations as knob became loose. Can’t complain!

The unit arrived as scheduled and was well packed. It was heavier thanI expected, because the power transformer is heavier than expected. You need a sturdy outlet. Unfortunatley, it is an old school 24 VAC transformer, so it is heavy.The unit is nearly a direct replacement for our 30+ year old controller....but with a few new features. I decided not to go with a WiFi enabled unit since they are more expensive, and from the reviews it sounds like the WiFi interface are not robust and connections are often dropped.This unit is easy to wire up, and it worked first time.Some other comments: When reviewing the programming, you can visually see what days each zone is turned on. Nice feature . There is no covering door which makes the control more accessible, but they controls are exposed. (We'll see if the rotary knob get sticky in the garage after a few years.) The solenoid control wires go into the bottom of the unit and aren't well protected. I made a 3D printed housing to channel the wires and keep tem protected. Finally, since there is no cover door, there is not an easy place to put the zone watering schedule.Otherwise, this unit is a good replacement sprinkler controller. A good buy for the price point.

This is a great sprinkler control. I love the ease of setup, accuracy and design. My 11 year old grandson can set this. No need to hire a professional. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good simple control. I bought the 6 zone but it is also available in 8 zone. My last one lasted 15 years, before the clock would not adjust. Great value at $49.

Rainbird is the standard of irrigation products and this one does not disappoint. Very easy installation after I marked the wires from my old unit. I did not need wifi and this one is very easy to program with several options. Very sastisfied.

It was easy to install and program. And I love how easy it is to customize Days and Run Times individually for each zone. The thing I think I like most is the two different Manual Run buttons, one that does all zones and one to do an individual zone. My 30 year old Rainbird didn't have the individual zone option. On the old controller, if I wanted to just run zone 3, I would have to cycle the manual button to zone 3 and when zone 3 finished, I would have to turn the controller off, otherwise, zones 4 and 5 would run. With this new controller, I just have to turn the dial to 3 and hit the button for 1 manual zone. There are two things that I wish were different with the individual zone option. (1) Each time you select an individual zone to run manually, the run time defaults to 10 minutes. I would prefer it default to the same time set for the full automatic option. (2) Lets say I want to run zone 3 manually for 30 minutes. I turn the rotary knob from Auto to 3 and press the button for individual zone then set the zone for 30 minutes and zone 3 runs for 30 minutes. Now I can go eat a ham sandwich and take a nap. But being that I'm old, there is a good chance I will forget to turn the knob back to Auto. My sprinklers are programmed to run Automatically while I'm at work. I might not realize my knob is still set to 3 until the grass starts dying. But even with those two minor issues, it's still 5 Stars for me.

My 18 year old controller finally decided to give up. It lost programming every time the power went out and yes, the battery was good. Decided to switch brands and go for a more up to date unit. The Rain Bird model was perfect for my needs. Indoor, operates 6 stations and allows three watering cycles per day. The display is easy to read and shows what is happening now and what will be coming up for the next cycle. It has worked perfectly for the month I have had it. Except for my programming mistake. It really is easy to program. The connections were easy to set up. It even has "pump or Master" output to turn on an extra valve to activate the irrigation system. I looked at the price of replacing my old unit with the same model number and it would have been over 2 times more expensive. I do like the nice display in the Rain Bird and don't need to control it from Wi Fi or have the controller second guess the weather reports. I just need it to work and this one does just that.
