best choice out there for use in water.
I had a grade 3 MCL tear (the worst kind) I was prescribed an expensive hinged knee brace (HKB) I wear all the time but needed something I could wear in water. After looking around I found this guy. It has held up while swimming in my local YMCA. It seems to have as much support as my expensive aluminum HKB. Although it is not rated for water use, it seems to work well. Do put some waterproof silicon grease on the gears on both sides. One of the reasons it works well is the sleeve you put on first and then fold over the brace after you put the brace on. It keeps it from slipping down.

Watch the sizing.
Seems to be a decent hinged brace. For me the issue was the sizing. Using their measurement suggestion I was at 13". So that's within the size small's range but also the bottom end of the size medium. I purchased the small and should have gotten the medium. My issue is two-fold: (1) the hinge on the inside of the brace was pressing against my knee, enough for constant discomfort - especially when I'm dealing with a MCL strain (read: inside ligament); and (2) the provided sleeve to wear wasn't a compression sleeve for me, it was a tourniquet. Way too tight, so uncomfortable. Again, seems to be a decent hinged brace, well made, I just got the wrong size.

Great support and compression! Take time to use the pads for the best fitment
Fits great just take the extra time to experiment with the additional pads that come with the brace! After twenty minutes mine fits well with no pressure on any bony prominences. The initial fitment, the hinge was pressing on my fibular head which is the bone that is on the lateral side of your knee. With some experimenting I have no more pain or pressure on that spot that would have caused a sore. This brace is great since it has four straps allowing reduced stress on the knee. I am reviewing this on day one with the brace but so for it looks promising. I have an old ACL tear on left knee and meniscus tear on right knee from 4 & 7 years ago respectively. Recently they flared up and the swelling and pain won’t go away. I can already feel the support this brace will offer me and will update on my condition after using this brace for an extended period of time. I am currently doing physical therapy exercises on my own at home and needed a brace to promote unloading of the knees to give them time to heal. I should update the review in hopefully no more than 2 months when, fingers crossed, I am healed and can return to work. Initial impressions point to this being very beneficial in my recovery!

Great stability!
I had an ACL reconstructed about 8 years ago. Last year my doctor said it has become abnormally loose and may need to be fixed. I could feel myself losing alignment in my back and hip. I was constantly at the chiropractor get adjusted. I also would get a lot of pain in my knee and physically I was slowing down and gaining weight. I even stated eating differently. I can’t afford to miss work, so for the past year I started wearing a knee brace. I began with a standard wrap around brace that connected with Velcro. Slowly it began to no longer work. So I got a new brace and the same thing happened. I upgraded to a shockdoctor knee brace with bilateral hinges. It was great! But after awhile, it began to give. Mostly because the material was no longer what it was when I bought it. So on to another brace. I decided on this biological brace. It reminded me of my previous Don Joy brace I had after my ACL was injured. That brace is no longer usable because it’s old and well used. This brace by shock doctor is awesome! Of all the braces I’ve owned, this one has gray stability. I can feel the energy back in my body. I’m more mobile. No knee pain. No more being lethargic. No more constant twisting and turning to pop my back. No more hip pain. And it came with a nice sleeve, so no chaffing of the skin either. I hoe this is helpful for those considering a knee brace.

Knee brace
This brace is extremely bad. It brakes after three uses. No way of getting in contact with the company to tell them about it,

So I have a very bad knee that does not stick together
So I have a very bad knee that does not stick together. Anytime I do any motion that goes side to side my knee totally gives out and down I go. So I decided to try the Bio-Logix knee brace by Shock Doctor. I was very excited to get it because I had read this would work for individual who have the lateral knee issues just like mine. When I opened the box the brace looks like a transformers piece of hardware.... which I like.. hahaha It looks cool, but it feels a bit bulky for me. I'm only 5' 5" so it felt bulky on my shorter leg. I bet if you have long slender legs (which is what I think this thing is modeled for) this would fit perfect. My legs aren't big or anything but when I put this on, I had to strap it as tight as I could, and when I would walk around it would slip down. I couldn't stop this from happening. I chose the correct size according to my knee but the way it is shaped, it seems to be designed for a mans leg.... or someone who is more boney structured then myself. Not sure. Anyway, I can see that it would keep good alignment and probably stop the issue of the knee coming apart with side motion, but it hurt my knee. There was a lot of pressure on the right side of my knee at the joint, I tried adjusting it according to instructions but again this didn't fit my leg well. The knee size was correct, but the shape of my leg didn't fit well with the shape of the brace. It has more of a molded shape, which is why it is leg specific to right or left. I'm sure this would be a great brace for someone taller, with long slender leg structure, like shown in the picture. One more point, it does have fluid motion in the brace joints which was cool, but it also feels like you can't fully extend your leg as well as not being able to fully bend it either. I need something that feels less bulky, and has more range of motion.
