The timer on the our microwave and range are not loud enough to hear them in the adjacent family room with the TV on. Bought this timer, and it does the job. Functions very well, and it is loud. Only problem with it is it's mechanical design. The strong magnet is centered in the back as needed, but there is no support behind the buttons. So using one hand, when you push the button the timer will tilt until it hits the microwave to stop it. Most of the time the magnet will break loose and the timer will fall. Not good! After seeing the problem, I added some shims behind the buttons so there is a hard stop when you press the buttons. I attached the shims with some good double sided tape. (However you attach the shims, just remember you will need access to the battery compartment in the future.) Now the timer is firmly attached to the microwave and there is no wiggle when the buttons are pressed. (Photos attached) They could have easily fixed this problem with shims of some sort, or by using two smaller magnets (instead of one large one) behind the buttons. Also, the magnet will probably break free from the plastic (poor glue). You can then use hot glue to reattach it (as I did). Other than the poor mechanical design, it functions great. Easy to use. Counts up or down. Subtracted one star because of their poor mechanical design.

The magnet, intended to stick it to the refrigerator is useless. Barely a bump and it falls to the floor. As mine will spend about 95% of its life on the front of the fridge, I removed the stand and the original magnet and replaced it with a rare earth magnet. NOW, it stays where it is supposed to.As to the timer itself, the numbers are large and easy to read. The alarm is loud enough to alert someone in another room. Over all, it is a great kitchen timer. Now, if they could slap a better magnet on it, it would be perfect.

Needed a simple timer. This fills the bill, inexpensively. Easy to figure out, although comes with brief instruction sheet.Recommended.

First off, I returned the product immediately because of the design of the stand. It seems like a weak link. It uses a metal loop that pulls out and wasn't convenient to do so. If the stand isn't important to you you might be happy with this timer.The numbers are large and easy to read. The alarm is reasonably loud, and although the volume isn't adjustable, it seems to be a comfortable level.There's a magnet on back, a spring clip, e.g., to attach to an apron, and a small lanyard.It's a countdown timer and also counts up.

Easy to set, read and place on my stove. The alarm is loud enough to get my attention.
