Attwood 4505-7 Sahara S500 Automatic

Here in the Pacific Northwest we get extreme rain storms - many of them. This humble little pump has been keeping my boat afloat for over a year now. I was wishing to replace the old pump that had served the boat for decades, a Rule brand pump, but Rule chose to discontinue the model. They opted instead to make a cheaper version that uses an electronic circuit to run the pump EVERY TWO MINUTES!!! What? That's right, every two minutes that thing will use your boat's power to see if there's any water to pump.The old design uses a built-in float switch. That design was flawless. This pump I'm reviewing, the Attwood 4507-7 Sahara S750, uses the same design. Yes, it's made in China. Guess what? All the famous Rule pumps are now also made in China. Just like most of the miscellaneous components your "MADE IN THE USA" car are made in China.I found an alternate pump that is as close to the same specs as I could to the original Rule pump. Rule no longer makes one that fits this closely. I looked at a lot of reviews before settling on this particular one and have no regrets.

New pump worked fine

I just purchased a replacement for my 12 year old Sahara S500 bilge pump. The old one quit working automatically but still works with the manual switch after 12 years of service. This is on a boat kept in a marina and it has to pump out rain water regularly. I even had a leak for a few months and it had to kick on every few hours. I am very impressed with its longevity and purchase the same model to replace it.

The Attwood 4511-7 Sahara S1100 Automatic Bilge Pump has been a reliable addition to my boat. With a capacity of 1100 GPH and a 12-Volt, 1.5-Amp draw, it efficiently keeps my bilge dry and performs exactly as expected.Installation is straightforward, and the pump operates automatically, which is a huge convenience. It kicks in when needed and shuts off once the water is cleared, providing peace of mind while on the water.Although I’ve noticed the need to replace it yearly, it consistently performs well throughout its lifespan. For the price and reliability it offers, it's a routine maintenance step I’m willing to take.Overall, the Attwood Sahara S1100 is a dependable bilge pump that gets the job done. Highly recommended for its performance and ease of use!

This pump replaced the existing pump that was identical to what was originally installed from the dealer in 2018. I was able to use the existing cradle, which saved me the trouble of having to remove the base screw. Especially being this pump was installed in a very hard to reach area. Hopefully, it last as long or longer than the original.

Direct replacement for my old pump, didn't even change the mounting base. Love it.

Upon opening the pump from the package, it appeared to be a very cheap piece of plastic.After wiring it up into my boat, which was very easy, and saw how much & how far it blew the water out from the discharge on the side of my 22' boat, I was amazed....Bottom line, everything manufactured now-a-days is made as cheaply as possible, as this is a prime example, but it pumps like crazy. Just be careful & don't drop it before you install it, because it will definitely crack into pieces!!!So far, I would say buy it, especially for the price.Also had it shipped to my door in 2-3 days with standard shipping, which is why I buy a lot from Amazon.... they don't gouge you for shipping, they ship fast for cheap.....
