Perfect book just what I needed.
I knew nothing about this book but I was shopping for my niece's Birthday. She just turned 3 and loves her books! Her name is also Ruby and she has red hair! I was looking for a book with a character names Ruby and found this little gem! It's not only a story but it also teaches manners. This was a big hit what child doesn't like seeing their name in a story or on anything for that matter. I was one of the unlucky ones my name was no where to be found but I would if loved it! This book is a bit bigger than a standard square book but I don't think that makes a big difference. I highly recommend this book to anyone especially if they have a little one who loves a tea party!

How nice to "GO TO TEA"
"Tea for Ruby" is a delightful story which came to life at my granddaughter's 4th birthday. Audrey was very excited about having a tea party birthday at an historical Victorian playhouse. What she didn't know was a "Queen" a. k. a. great aunt Bev was going to arrive a little later to read "Tea for Ruby" to her and her six little friends. The storybook was darling and the little girls' behavior quite regal. There were 13 adults present who were also enchanted by the playhouse and the Queen's surprise visit. "Tea for Ruby" is a perfect story for a pre-kindergarten age child who could use some gentle reminders about good manners. Our bonus is the Lucy Haskell Playhouse, built in 1885 for Lucy, for her fifth birthday. The house was designed by local architect Lucas Pfeiffenberger and built by Lucy's father and grandfather. You can see this playhouse in Alton, Illinois at Haskell Park.

A cute and creatively-illustrated story
My family already had this book and we bought it for a little girl who had a princess/tea-themed birthday party. This book is charming, focused on a cute story but full of beautiful and creative illustrations which spark the imagination.

perfect gift to go along with a teaset
Really cute book, love the pictures and the story. My granddaughter was so excited. It is a pretty tall book. I like books that fit in a standard size bookshelf better so they are a little easier to store.

My 4-year old LOVES it!
My 4 year old daughter is a big Fancy Nancy fan, and now a big Ruby fan, too! At first my daughter did think this was another Nancy book, as the characters do look pretty similar. But once I explained that this was a different girl, she got it and enjoyed the story immensely. Her favorite part is when Ruby talks with her mouth full. The illustrations are amazing. And I love the fact that the story teaches Ruby manners -- most of which we need lots of help with ourselves. Now my daughter wants to go to London herself and have tea with the Queen! Also, as an added bonus, somehow Amazon sent us a copy that had been autographed by author Sarah Ferguson. We're feeling pretty lucky -- how cool is that?!
