Superb replacement for older garden cam
The media could not be loaded. Bought as a replacement for a far older 8mp still/non-HD video gardencam. Looked at various reviews on Amazon and other sites before purchase. There are probably better cameras out there but at far higher prices. As it is, this is a huge improvement on our older camera with far better image/video resolution at a really good price. Used only to see what is happening in our suburban garden during hours of darkness it has excellent detection times for wildlife coming into view. I continue to experiment with different settings to obtain best results but from first use it produced really good images. Menu is easy to navigate, no special degree needed to work out how to use it! Battery use very good with my set-up. I use rechargeable AAs, down to half capacity after a fortnight's use (Nightime recording only, I have set the camera to only operate during specific hours!). We also like the information bar (that can be switched off if not needed) showing time/date and temperature when recordings made. Daytime stills and videos are also of very good quality. Can't comment on long-term use but early signs very promising. Tight weather seals despite recent British summer rain! Highly recommended if you're after a relatively inexpensive gardencam with good image specs.

Excellent!
The media could not be loaded. First of all, this is my new favourite thing in the world! I don't like to promote consumerism but I can honestly say that my life has been enriched after getting this camera. The excitement and anticipation of viewing the high quality footage or stills is like Christmas every day. I'm lucky enough to live in a place with lots of wildlife so the biggest problem is choosing where to aim the camera. The housing is robust and waterproof (it still recorded decent night time footage even in a downpour), the quality of footage is brilliant and the sound is one of the highlights too. You may have to play around with getting your distance from the subject right depending on your settings (sensitivity/exposure capping etc) but the menu is very easy to navigate. There are loads of options and features to fully customise your setup. The strap is secure and it has a standard tripod mount thread which is very useful.Possibly the only thing that I don't like about this camera is the location of the screen; if you aren't too fussed about composition, then just turn it on and close the door, if you need to check you are pointing in exactly the right direction though, you have to do it as best you can BEFORE you mount it since the screen is in the door (which swings open away from the housing with the mounting options) but, even with this set back it's not too much of a big deal!I have used standard, Energizer rechargable batteries; if you are leaving it for a long time, or expect lots of long clips then I would go with the manufacturers recommendation of Li-ion batteries, but for me standard have been ok so far.All in all this is a wonderful product at an affordable price that gives you and incredible insight into the natural world.(The attached video is a "screenshotted" clip from a longer recording, the light coloured 'dots' at the end are my fault, not the cameras!)

Clear pictures but battery life issues
This is a great camera. The pictures are really clear and it's pretty reliable. It's quite low tech, in that it doesn't have wifi, bluetooth or rechargeable batteries but the tech does work well.My only gripe is that it takes 8 batteries and they don't last that long, about three weeks of intermittent use (approx. 5 days solid). This makes it quite expensive to run.I will be looking now for one that has the tech I've mentioned and perhaps a trigger alarm. All in all though, a sound camera and I would highly recommend, if you don't mind regularly changing batteries.

Updated Review - Now waterproof!
The vendor got in contact and shipped a replacement device. The replacement has a much better seal and after a few nights outside when it has rained, it is waterproof. Great video capture, 0 second trigger and easy to setup.Great customer service too. Would recommend.Previous ReviewWhat can I say, the camera is great. I bought it to replace an Apeman (which is useless), which was bought to replace a Ceyomur which failed after a few years. It is easy to setup, pretty good on batteries, the video quality is great and it triggers well. Would prefer a sub 5 second trigger as hedgehogs can move fast, but it captures them really well, along with mice and foxes who all visit our back garden.Despite it saying it is "IP66 waterproof", it isn't waterproof, which is a problem as it has been a bit wet recently. I collected it this morning and there was a lot of water in it which had seeped into the memory card slot and battery compartment. I have left it inside all day to dry out, replaced the batteries and it won't power on, so I assume it has shorted out the electronics. The seal strip is tiny and seems to be recessed too far back to be of any use. I'll be returning and will have to try and find another camera.A real shame, as if it was waterproof, it would be a great camera.

Excellant camera with good customer support
Having change my trail camera's over from other makes to GardePro A3S trail camera's over the last few years I have found them to have a good battery life, easy to set up and provide good day and night time video clips. Over time two have had proplems one a screen fault and another moisture in the lens. On both occasions from reporting the faults replacement cameras were sent by return.

Excellent Camera
This Trail Camera is excellent value for money, easy to set up and use, with great picture and sound quality. The mic even picked up the sound of the cat flap opening and closing from 8 metres away!
