This is the second one of these I've purchased for my '03 Avalanche..., and I will purchase a third one if I break my mirror again.There is a learning curve and common sense to easily install these and get little to no distortion. Both mirrors I purchased, LH drivers side, came with zero distortion out of the box. After I installed the first one, there was some minor distortion, but still very usable. Why did this happen?When I get to the point to "snap/press" the new mirror in place, I would carefully use my whole hand to apply even pressure over the whole mirror. This is NOT the way to do it, as more than half the back of the mirror is not supported by anything, and you can actually bend it slightly to cause distortion.Before you snap the new one on, you need to look at the back of the mirror for the exact contact points where the mirror snaps in. When installing, do not put pressure outside these points. On my Avalanche, the area is about the diameter of a pop can, and the four contacts are simply top/bottom, and left/right. Simply rock mirror, first up and down, with thumb and index fingers. Only appy pressure over the contact points till you hear or feel it snap in. Do the same left and right, and you're done. New mirror, fraction of cost, and no distortion.My second mirror has no distortion whatsoever, even after installation.

Don't be cheap and buy the ones for a few dollars less like I did, only to return those 2 "fun house" mirrors. For about 5 dollars more you get a good quality replacement without the wavy distortion, I highly recommend this brand to replace your original.

I recently replaced my OEM drivers side mirror with this replacement unit. Removal of the old mirror and replacement of the new was pretty easy. The mirror went in and fit as advertised. My problem with it is this, one, the mirror magnifies a lot more than the original indicating it probably has a curve to it the original didn't and two, there is obvious distortion in the mirror causing objects to bend, shift and distort. So, is it a mirror, yes, just not a very good one. I don't believe I could honestly recommend this to anyone.

This mirror was needed after the glass started to get some liquid trapped on my old mirror. It was pretty easy to install after watching a couple YouTube videos and it works pretty well. As some other review have stated there is a SLIGHT imperfection in the glass that makes the fun house mirror look but it i hardly noticeable. I don't think the mirror actually comes like this but occurs when the user installs the mirror due to the roughness it takes to get the clips to snap back in when you install the new mirror. Aside from this I can't complain, it does its job and looks far better than the old one.
