They work well if used as designed. Small, easy to mount.
I have installed several of these pumps on antique cars with 2BBl and 4BBL carburetors. It can be used in-line with an original pump, or as a stand-alone replacement. You can have it run when the engine is running, or only as a booster to help prime the carburetor for cars that aren't driven regularly. The original mechanical pumps are (usually) able to draw through these pumps. Why is this important? Many antique cars sit for weeks between starts. The fuel in the carb evaporates (most are vented).. and you have to grind and grind the starter to get fuel up to the carburetor, before the car will start. Depending on how you want the electric pump to function... will dictate how you hook it up.I often use them just to help "prime" the carburetor, before you even hit the starter- by using a momentary switch. Push and hold the switch until you hear the electric pump start to quiet down (pressure builds).. and then start the car normally. The electric pump isn't needed after that, and the mechanical pump will take over.Or, You can have it run all the time the engine is running (with or without the original pump in place). You'll need to wire it so it gets power when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position. For safety (rollover/wreck), it's a good idea to wire an oil-pressure switch into the circuit- so the pump shuts off if the oil pressure drops. You don't want fuel being pumped after a wreck. And you may not have the ability to shut the switch off on your own. (unconscious, incapacitated).

Easy to use and works well.
I had installed 2 of the mechanical, cam operated fuel pumps sold as a replacement for my Kohler engine; they only worked a short time. I mounted this over the opening for that fuel pump, sealing the opening first with a flat piece of metal and bolted on. I rigged up a spst switch directly to the battery and when I want to mow I flip it on and start the engine. Should have wired it to ignition switch but grass was getting long!6 Sept 2020- I thought pump had failed after 1 1/2 years, still within 2 year warranty. Actually, my poorly crimped ground wire had loosened. I emailed the company and I had a new pump in 3 days. Old pump still worked. When I solved the wire problem, I wanted to pay for the pump they sent- they said "no, just give us a good review". Great pump, great customer service!

Puts out way too much pressure, I had to get a regulator.
The pressure from the pump was so high it was spitting fuel into the carb while it was off and when it was running. I could not get my mower to run right untill I ordered a pressure regulator. It's rather large, but it seems to work fine. I spliced power from the fuel cut off solenoid.

Started to make too much fuel pressure
Purchased to put on gas powered skid loader. Worked good in the beginning. Probably have about 10 hours of use. Engine was flooded and gas was running out of air filter. Tested pump psi, it is now making almost 8 psi of pressure. Too much. Pushing gas past needle and seat in carb.

hard working little pump
I bought this pump as part of a fuel polishing system to clean diesel fuel in my boat's tanks. The pump for this task doesn't need a high flow rate nor a large pressure change, just needs to get fuel through a filter and back to a tank and do it for an hour or two at a time. This little pump is doing that well and comes at a nice price. My only "criticism" is that it is quiet so I need a reminder to turn it off. I have used it for a several hours of operation, so far, so good.

So far, so good
I was having an issue with my Yanmar SC2400 sub-compact tractor. It would idle fine but then die at high throttle or under load. When I disconnected the output line from my current fuel pump, the fuel delivery was very erratic. I ordered this fuel pump as a replacement in hopes of resolving my issue. After installation, I ran the tractor for about an hour, and also placed it under by moving some dirt with the front bucket. I'm happy to say it ran without any issues. This new fuel pump is slightly larger than the original, but it fit in the original location without any modifications required. So far it appears to have solved my problem. It came with a 2 year warranty, so I'm hoping it will run for a long time. The original lasted about 10 years.
