LEAD!!!
LEAD on the inside of the lid! At least according to a lead test kit I bought after seeing a discolored spot under the rubber drinking hole seal (see photo). Worried about bacteria buildup under the seal I separated it from the lid for cleaning in the dishwasher. After a dishwasher cycle I noticed corrosion that reminded me of the lead contacts corrosion that builds up a 12v car battery. I ordered a lead test kit and according to the color result (see picture) it appears to contain or is lead. Also note that the rubber normally would hide this from view.

THIS LID IS
THIS LID IS THICK AND SOLID. IT DOES KEEP THE DRINGS WARM & COLD LONGER. MY LID HAD 3 DEFECTS IN THE LIP, TO PULL THE LID OFF THE CUP. IT IS VERY BAD, WHEN THIS PRODUCT HAD SEVERAL DEFECTS, AND THE CUSTOMER HAS GOT TO PAY THE RETURN SHIPPING & HANDLING FEE, IN ORDER TO GET A REPLACEMENT. SO I JUST ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK, THEN THEY PAID FOR THE SHIPPING & HANDLING FEES, TO SHIP IT BACK.

This is Definitely worth it for soda drinkers!!
This lid definitely makes a difference! I fill my mugs with diet coke and if I put them in the fridge overnight, they still taste fresh like I just filled it. I'm very particular about where I go fill my diet cokes because it tastes different everywhere. But even if I get my mug out of the fridge before I go to bed, it sits out all night by my bed and I drink it in the morning, it tastes great. It's not watered down at all.I wanted to kinda test the lid out to see how watered down my soda got but because I always drink diet coke, I thought I might not be able to tell. So, I filled two mugs with Rootbeer because it has such a distinct bite to it. I thought, it's really obvious when Rootbeer gets watered down so I'll let my mugs sit out for 8 hours. One mug had the lid the cup comes with, the other mug had this lid. The mug with the regular lid still had most all of the ice, but it was definitely watered down some. The mug with this new lid shocked me! The rootbeer still had the bite to it, like it was fresh! If you only drink water, it may not be necessary. I'm sure it would keep the ice in there longer, but it doesn't matter if ice melts in water. But when you fill your mug with soda, it's definitely worth using these lids!!

Taller than the normal lid. Silicon is removable. Once removed, fits metal boba straw perfectly.
I bought this so that I could use my metal boba straw with my Reduce tumbler. The boba straw is 1/2" wide and fits tightly in the lid AS IS. I did not put my straw in all the way in the lid as it came because I was afraid I would never get it back out again.I removed the silicon straw "plug" thing, and there is now a 1 mm gap around my boba straw allowing it to move as it should instead of stiffly vertical.Compared to the clear lid that came with my Reduce tumbler, this insulated lid sit's at least 1/4" taller. I don't like the look at all - but it does the job I bought it for so I didn't have to experiment with other off brand options.I wish Reduce (and all tumbler lids with straw inserts) just made their inserts for larger/thicker straws, as well. If I had the confidence I wouldn't crack the acrylic of my original lid, I would drill the straw opening just an extra 2mm in diameter and it would have been perfect - but my luck I'd surely shatter it and have to replace it. Even though I find this insulated lid unnecessarily expensive - it's less expensive than the time and hassle of me enlarging the hole of my current lid or experimenting with other brands hoping that they might solve my problem, but more than likely won't because their lid models are probably made in the same plant somewhere under the same dimensions, except for tumbler mouth opening.

Still need to find a tumbler that this will fit.....
My review is based on not actually being able to use this lid as I purchased 2 different tumblers I thought it would fit but no go, this lid was too small for both.I really like the look of this lid, straw hole in middle so liquids won't slosh out the sides and hole has rubber around it again to prevent leakage and metal so it won't crack like plastic ones do long before the life of the tumbler. The lid has 2 rows of a silicone gasket so again should make a good seal if you find the correct size tumbler. Now you might just say, purchase the tumbler this is actually made for, a Reduce brand. I would but I want more than a 34 oz tumbler and the 40oz size is to fat at the bottom to fit most cup holders including mine. Too bad as I like the looks of the Reduce brand and look they make a quality product, just unexcusable their 40oz size is to fat to fit most cars, where they'll probably be used. Heck the two tumblers I purchased(that this lid doesn't fit) easily fit in my cup holder and one is also 40oz(Pure brand) and the other is a 44/51 act Oz (XPAC brand) that was a little tight in my cup holder but still looks to be smaller than this brand's 40oz.I'm going to try a couple other tumblers in hope they fit this lid, otherwise I'll be foced to return it. Oh and the price, WAY overpriced IMO but what are you going to do, if I find the correct tumbler the pair should last a very long time, the price is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars and truthfully after purchasing this on A* I found it $5 cheaper on the mfgs. website, also free shipping so check. This lid would seem to fit a tumbler with a minimum inside diameter of 3 5/8" and the gaskets seem to extend out to 3 3/4" but for a good seal you'd want the maximum inside diameter of your tumbler to be 3 11/16" diameter or in other words, your tumbler would have little tolerance for this lid to work.Oh the straws, they fit this lid nicely but are too fat/stiff to fit through the slot on the plastic lids of my other 2 tumblers, nice enough looking straws though and probably not as cold on your lips as stainless steel straws.Update: OK after more research it looks like this lid might have a better chance of fitting other brands 32 Oz tumblers but for sure it does fit the most common/expensive brands 32 Oz tumbler, the Yeti Rambler. Of course I don't want to spend 40 dollars for a 32 Oz tumbler that even lacks a handle, forcing me to spend upwards of 10 dollars extra for a handle so I'm going to look to other brands. I've ordered a couple more 40 Oz brands in hopes this lid will fit on them and one sounds very promising, I'll report back as I really like this lid, just need to find a 40 Oz or larger tumbler this lid will fit, oh and that will fit in my very standard 3" car cup holder. What an ordeal, who would have known!Update: Success! I found not one but 2 40 oz tumblers this lid works on and are the "yeti 32 oz standard". One is a somewhat expensive very nice Crystal Cup Company's 40 oz tumbler with nice built in handle. It has a very nice textured black(only color currently available) finish and seamless interior. It comes with a couple nice plastic straws that work nicely with this lid. The other one is a much less expensive($19 vs $35) Zibtes 40 oz tumbler with a removable ploastic handle and again seamless interior and straws while on the thicker side and plastic do fit in this lid. This lid fits both these tumbles like a golve. The Zibtes is really a good value but the handle is kinda cheasy plastic IMO but it seems well made. Note if you have a particularly small cup holder I'd go with the Zibtes as the Crystal Cup Company's tumbler is a full 3" and is kind of tight on both cup holoders in our Prius. It does basically work but sits an inch higher than the Zibtes which considering both of these cups are on the tall side, lower is probably better.
