Maverick 2-in-1 Temp and Time Digital Instant Read Cooking Kitchen Grilling Smoker BBQ Probe Meat Thermometer, Black

I held off for a long time getting a modern digital instant read thermometer. Looked at all the usual suspects from Thermopen to the off brands. Maverick has found the sweet spot here with fast read (less than four seconds), more than sufficient accuracy, large readable display, and a built-in timer which is especially nice if you're wearing gloves or don't want to fuss with your phone/etc for setting time. I like the specs on Maverick's 4-channel unit, I am looking to see if they release a 4-channel wireless unit to compete with Meater.

10-20 seconds to read, not "instant". Overall seems well made and accurate.

This is a great instant read thermometer. I actually found it by a recommendation from a web site called All Things BBQ. The Amazon price was slightly cheaper so I purchased it here. Quick temperature reads are critical when grilling or barbecuing to insure you don't over cook or under cook the meat. Also the timer that automatically starts when you close the thermometer is invaluable. I read about this feature before I purchased and didn't think i would really use it but I was wrong! I love this feature especially when I have a lot of items cooking (on the grill and inside). It's very helpful that this timer tells you the last time you opened your grill and released heat so you don't do it too often. I highly recommend this thermometer!

Excellent product. This is just as good as another instant read thermometer that cost me twice as much. It responds just as fast as any other instant read thermometer that I own. Being able to flip the LED screen over make it useful on left or right hand. If the manufacturer would give the temperature probe an additional 90 degrees swing this could be the best instant read thermometer on the market.

Used to make readings with my right hand. Have to use my left hand for reading or read from the other side of grill very awkward to get used to. Which they made two version of this because it is a great thermometer.

Instant accurate read. Exactly what we were looking for.

Highly recommend this thermometer. You can get cheaper ones but they aren’t as accurate and rarely provides fast readings.This thermometer provides quick (2-3 seconds) and accurate readings. I grill a lot at night and the digital display makes reading the temp easy. The prong is also long enough for use on pretty much all roasts and large cuts of meat.It’s important to note the importance of a good digital thermometer, especially with chicken. Just because the juices run clear doesn’t mean it’s done. According to the FDA, poultry needs to be 165 degrees (internal temp)before it’s safe. Use the thermometer to ensure safe eating. Also helps to make sure you get steaks, roasts, etc to a doneness you prefer. For me it’s medium rare which is about 135 degrees for beef.Enjoy!
