Works like a champ
Works like a champ so far, was pretty much plug and play for my security system. Highly recommend this if your doing 4k resolutions, alot of writing, rewriting. Ill update here if it fails or quits, if you see no update its doing its job. Im running 8 4k cameras, and my playback is matching my live view so far.

Four out of four 8TB PURZ were bricks on arrival. Hopefully Trump don't use bricks this expensive in our Wall.
Wow.. I ordered four of these 8TB PURZ and they were all bad.Refunding and I am not sure yet whether I want to replace them with Western Digital brand drives again or switch to another brand.Sold by: Better Choice OnlineThree of these were loud and sounded like the head was scratching the spinning disk when they started. only one showed up in Disk Manager, but it was only for a minute. When I went to initialize the disk, Disk Manager stopped responding and never saw the disk again.

They Do the Job
I put two of these into an NVR and they worked. WD says they're designed to be run 24/7, which is what I needed. They are easy to install, as they're simply SATA drives. Plug in the power & data cables, and boot the device.

if I plug back in the old HD it shows up fine. Any tips or suggestions for what I should ...
Need some help, when I plug this into my new Lorex NVR and hook it all back up the system is saying 'no disk' so it is not showing up available for me to format. I'm not sure if its and issue with this HD or the NVR, if I plug back in the old HD it shows up fine. Any tips or suggestions for what I should try next?

Beware of Western Digital
Furious with Western Digital. Bought a MyCloud server to use with external hard drives. After hours of troubleshooting I found out we needed to buy and install an internal hard drive. So I bought this one. Then after installing it, and more hours of troubleshooting, tech support informed me that it won't recognize it on the network properly unless I purchase and install a 2nd hard drive. What's more is that when I tried to return the MyCloud to WD, it was just over a month from purchase, and they wouldn't return it.

Bigger is better
My surveillance system only came with a 1TB drive so this was purchased to keep a longer active history of the videos. Plug and play. Now I can keep almost a month's worth instead of 4 days.
