Mom loves it
Bought for my mom and she couldn’t be happier. She had been looking at estate sales trying to find a cider press but they were all antiques and missing parts. So I looked in my usual spot and found it. Now she makes wine, cider, and whatever other concoctions she can think of. And it’s the perfect size for her rather than those gigantic things she saw in the barns.Great quality, works easily, cleans up easily, and store as away in a smaller space.

Great service
-Easy instructions to follow.-Important to always anchor the press.-Important to always use a crusher before.-There is an extra screw in the box, in case you lose one during assembly..-Clean all equipment before and after use.-The mesh bag can go in the washer, but not the dryer.-Build extra blocs, take a few minutes, but they will be required. My package had a part missing, part No. 1: the handle. All other parts were in the package, so I decided to assemble things, and opened a ticket with Amazon. In no time, the company contacted me to confirm my request (to obtain a handle), and also to provide me with a link to order extra mesh bags. They gave me a link with a discounted price on the mesh bags, and shipped the handle. My other press is 60 or 80 gallons, not sure, but far to large. This new small press is what I required.I've done my first batch of apple cider yesterday, worked great (I used apples that fell from the tree, not as yummy locking, but perfect for this). My tree is a little insane this year, I have to put some 2x4 to protect the branches from breaking (so many apples this year). They are not very suite yet, but like I've done in the past, I'll be making sparkling cider, and apple brandy. If you have questions on how to do this, you ask away. And yes, I'll add pictures of the tree, the press, and cider making (hint: I like to pasteurize the juice, so that I can add my favorite yeast). Wild yeast can give amazing, or horrible results. Using beer yeast if perfect. Don't use champagne yeast, or your cider will be dry like mad.

It works, but small you NEED to have extra wood shimsz
So this thing works, but it’s tiny and takes quite a bit of effort to get a liter to gallon of cider. Good starter press but I’ll buy a bigger one next season. The base and rod is thick steel and SOLID. But the wood slats are kind of small / thin. They can break easily if you’re not careful when setting the round pressure plates. It survived the dozen or so rounds we put it through, but i can’t see this lasting more than a few seasons without needing to change the wood slats. You have to screw this down to something like plywood or a table or you won’t be able to turn it without 2 people. Also you MUST have small extra wood blocks to shim the pressure plate or the handle will bottom out before all the apples are juiced out. When it’s FULL of apples, you’ll be lucky to get a full glass from one press. If you’re just starting out like I was, just know this little thing is slow to get a gallon or two, and takes a lot more effort than some bigger ones. It worked for us, but I’ll spend a little more and get a bigger more sturdy one next year.

Careful with adding recommended items
Good product. Does the job of pressing apples.Ordered the recommended extra bags, (i.e., customers also bought these items). Of course they weren't the correct size/don't have a hole in the bottom to fit the press... Will know next time to double check, as these recommendation are just made by an algorithm to get you buy more things.
