I love these! The little tongs are perfect and seem delightfully posh, and the spheres themselves are hefty and smooth with a premium feel. Once frozen, the metal transfers heat quickly to cool your drink, but since they are filled with fluid they can sap more heat away than a solid piece of metal by taking advantage of the melting heat requirement for phase change. I've used plastic fluid-filled ice cubes in the past and also solid metal chilling devices, and this product functions better than both. The plastic ones gave a strange taste and appeared gimmicky, while the solid metal ones didn't maintain the drink's coolness over time. I pair them with an insulated glass, and by the time I finish my drink, they are still cold enough to the touch to be uncomfortable to hold for too long when I take them out for cleaning.

These oversized stainless steel “ice balls” work really great and are the perfect size. I got them earlier this week and have been using them every afternoon since. I couldn't be happier. The gel inside gets them really cold and my old fashioned doesn't get diluted by melting ice! I like these so much that I may give them as gifts, which will be perfect because they come with a beautiful bag for storage and an ice tong for getting the ball into and out of the glass, all in a presentation box one would be proud to receive. Love this purchase!
