Perfect for the Mechanically-Challenged
I am a single female who has an unfortunate amount of yard work. I gave up on the gas-powered weed trimmer that was a leftover from my former marriage. I spent more time figuring out the line than trimming. It killed my back and shoulders. Last but not least, with gas powered yard machines I never know how much oil to mix, what kind of gas to put in and so forth. I am not mechanical. So, my quest for an easier and lighter weed trimmer began.I landed on this Worx Trimmer due to Amazon reviews and popularity, along with other marketplace reviews. I have used the weed trimmer after three mowing cycles. So far: no regrets. It is economical. I have almost an acre of yard, so the second battery comes in very handy. If I decide I want a third battery I can pick up another for about $40. An added bonus, for the mechanically-challenged I took out the offered four-year warranty for less than five bucks, a no brainer for me.So how does it perform? I love it. A friend stopped by the other day and complimented me on how nice the yard looked. The trimmer is lightweight, and I have a health issue that causes chronic pain at forty-something. The weight, or lack thereof, is a huge relief compared to the gas trimmer collecting dust and spider webs in the garage. I realize the batteries will lose some steam, but right now I have enough to take care of my yard. It is so easy to feed line to that a child could do it. Need I say more? I went back and forth, back and forth with this and another well known brand that starts with a B. Again: mechanically-challenged. I hadn't heard of this brand. So glad chose the Worx WG163 Grass Trimmer. If it works for me, it will work for you!If you found my review somewhat helpful please click/tap the yes icon. Thank you so much!

Good product, almost great.
Great for a normal sized property, small issues. Firstly, change that string that came with it. It's weak and breaks often and needs to be fed constantly. I use the DeWalt .80 string and it is light years better than the string that comes with the worx. Secondly, the line feeder works you just have to tap it quickly (while running, it'll pause but it'll advance) a few times when you need more string. The batteries could indeed last longer (I get 20-30 min with each) but they give you two of them so it's not a huge deal. If they gave you one battery it would be an issue. The edger feature works great and gives you very clean looking lines. Keeping that line straight takes practice but that's not the tools fault. It's also very customizable in terms of comfort so you can manipulate it to be comfortable for your body size. It's light weight enough. This is a great tool for a regular person with a regular sized property, as long as you get some heavier gauge string (I can't emphasize this enough). Good value for 99 dollars when all you want is a decent weed whacker / edger. For what it's worth I have a corner property in the suburbs so I have plenty of grass / sidewalk and I can edge it all (sidewalk and street) with 1 battery.

Reduced power is a good thing? Yep, in so many ways!
THIS IS NOT A GAS TRIMMER! Now, once you get that in your head, you can enjoy the benefits of this little gem. I have always had gas trimmers. I have always hated the accidental destruction of fences, siding, and edging. I have also never loved getting hit in the shins with 145 mph rocks and mulch chips. Vibrating hands and ringing in my ears also are not on the top of my list of fun things. This little 20V trimmer addresses all those issues. It isn't as powerful as a gas trimmer, but it cuts the grass. What more do you need? It is much much lighter. It has way less vibration. It is very quiet. The lack of power is actually a benefit in my opinion. It is much easier to control for a finer more detailed cut. Of course the flip over edging feature works like a champ to for lining out your natural edges on landscaping beds. I know what you are thinking...how long doe the battery last? Well, I have a quarter acre with large beds, a fence, curbs, a fire pit, and five trees to trim. This thing does them all and has enough in reserve to run my Worx blower on all the surfaces now covered with grass. Would I buy this if I was a commercial landscaper? Nope. Would I buy it if my yard was twice as big? Sure, I'm only using one battery now and it comes with two! I have no regrets. The gasser is going in a garage sale today!

If buying in the UK Please note the "standard" Worxs batteries are NOT compatible!
..not sure why Worx offer this in the UK based on their "Powershare" philosophy. In general I like Worx stuff, and they are my "go to" DIY powertool company. As I already have their drill I recently opted for one of their cordless hedge trimmers as I checked and was advised that despite being quite old my drill batteries would fit.On the back of that i then ordered the above cordless strimmer as it looked really nice and generally had good reviews. As I already now had 3 batteries I asked Worx if they could source me a "bare" unit, (ie no batteries). When it arrived it was a bit disappointing to find that although advertised as a "power share" tool the batteries I had are not compatible???Not sure why they would do this?? But now have the pain of sending it back and looking for an alternative!

Misleading .. no suitable battery
I’m not happy at all about the miss information.I bought the worx strimmer because it clearly says clearly (power share) and same battery.I got the strimmer and the 20v battery and charger bought online separately from Amazon and they don’t fit together.I tried the battery of my Landroid mower and still the same.. does not fit!!There is no notice what so ever about this difference in the product advert or your website.Very misleading!!!!There is no adapter or different battery toBuy!!!

DON’T BUY IN THE UK
We have lots of worx PowerShare tools and love them. Turns out this is made for the US market and the batteries are different. So frustrating! Now we have to faff around with getting it returned and need to find the UK version!

This does not use UK batteries
Bought as a bare unit in the uk to use with other power share batteries. Arrived quicker than expected but uk batteries do not fit. In fairness to amazon, it does state that US specs may be different to those in UK but I did not expect that to mean the battery as without the battery, the unit itself is useless. UPS wanted nearly £60 to return to US for an item that cost £68 and Amazon policy will only consider refunding £20. I did contact Amazon customer service who let me keep the unit for disposal and refunded the full amount. So 5 stars for speed of delivery, 5 stars for Amazon customer service and 1 star for the unit because it does not work in the UK with UK powershare batteries.

Bogus sale!
This strimmer suggests that it is compatible with the batteries for lawnmower - the 20V Plus. I bought it thinking I was being clever as I already had the charger and two batteries. It arrived and after thorough investigation of booklet post assembly, it is not. To add insult to injury, the batteries are only sold in the States and now no longer made. Spend the money on the strimmer that comes with the battery pack is my advice! Really disappointing.
