Excellent brightness range
The 'Edison' style is ornamental and practical. It allows more light out the side thanthe thick opaque base on most LED bulbs.Intended use is bedside reading lamp and night light in a Bankers Lamp. 60W equivalent is more light than needed, but that's ok. The reading light brightness is set so that it is easy to read and then drift off to sleep. The night light can be adjusted to resemble the old neon bulb orange night lights, or the old blue-green electroluminescent night lights, and match those old colors. The adjustability of the light is impressive. Even at these low light levels, there is still fine control of brightness and color. The GE CYNC app for controlling this bulb is ok. It works with Alexa, but Alexa needs the CYNC skill.Off-topic: CYNC app vs Alexa CYNC skillColor adjustment -- The CYNC app color adjust has two sliders for hue and saturation. The CYNC app white adjust has a slider for color temperature. The Alexa CYNC skill just has a short list of colors. Must use the CYNC app to get precise color (such as matching light from a fluorescent light).Multiple lights -- The CYNC app is designed to handle a lamp with several bulbs in it, and a room with several lamps. Alexa has groups, but still needs instructions for each bulb in a lamp.To connect precisely adjusted bulbs to Alexa, do the bulb settings using the CYNC app and store these settings in named 'scenes'. Then use Alexa routine to activate the 'scene' (such as "Alexa, candlelight" to activate a CSYNC scene that precisely sets all the lights in the room).

Easy Set Up...Really!
I have always wanted the convenance of a Smart light, but I've had issues setting them up!I love these GE Smart LED bulbs! Why? Well, let me explain:SET-UP - I am always having to go through a process of trial and error to get lights to connect and work with Alexa. But these bulbs the set up on these was super easy, really...and on the first attempt! Well, technically the second. You seem the instructions specifying that all you do is screw it in and Alex discovers the device, this is just plain false, at least that has been my experience. I have NEVER been able to 'discover' a Wi-Fi light simply by screwing it in. EVER. I have always had to download the App first. This GE light was no exception. I simply downloaded the CYNC App first, then it became discoverable within the Alexa App. on my phone. I will say, the CYNC App is much nicer than any other I have experienced. Set-up and using the App is very intuitive. Again, much smoother than any other Smart light I have had. Yes, the cost is higher than others, but it was worth the extra expense! Hands down!MOVING THE BULB - Another plus I inadvertently discovered was how easy it was to move my bulb from room to room. I simply unscrewed the bulb from the living room table lamp, screwed it in the Family room couch floor lamp, then changed the name in the CYNC App., assigned it to the correct "room"...and WHALA! The name changed in the Alexa App and voice command worked!STYLE - The "Edison" filament is definitely cool. This is the reason I bought these bulbs. You see I have a throw-back floor lamp with the bulb exposed and I was replacing a standard Edison bulb. This one looks legit!NO FLICKERING - Even at 1% setting the bulb stays steady with 0 flickering! Awesome!PROGRAMABILITY & REMOTE CONTROL - We left for the weekend, so I opened the CYNC App from 250 miles way, set the light to go on at 6:30 pm and off at 8:00 am. I called my friend next door to see if it was on and... you guessed it. IT WORKED! He texted me the next day to say they turned off the next day. When we returned, I changed the setting to turn on at dawn and off at dusk and it's been working as well.COLORS & SCENES - Yep, they work, both through Alexa and the App. The colors look cool but frankly seem gimmicky. For the life of me I don't know why someone would want a blue or red light. I will play with this at some point. I did set up a scene for "TV watching", "Date night", and "Reading" within the CYNC App and Alexa recognizes them. I will confess these benefits were not what attracted me to the bulb.CONNECTIVITY - It's been a week of usage and so far, so good. I have had no issues. I will report back if I suffer connectivity issues down the road. I will say that I think the biggest cause for drop off in the past is forgetting to use the voice command and reverting to flipping the light switch to turn the light off. To prevent this, I changed the lights to another electrical socket not controlled by the light switch.CONS - So, what DON'T I like about the bulbs? Well, they could be brighter. I will confess I still cannot figure out how to gauge brightness levels with "Lumens". It seems that conversion to "Watts", (which is my point of reference) is not simple because brightness level varies by bulb type and manufacturer. I have been trying to find a 100-watt equivalent GE CYNC bulb to place in the floor lamp next to my reading chair but so far have had no success.RECOMMEND? - yeah, definitely. I had been looking for some time for easy to install, truly Alexa compatible Smart lights and, regardless of the number of stars, struck out each time. I hope this review helps you in your decision making.

Amazing Colors, Poor Whites
The appealing look of this bulb is difficult to capture on camera. However, the filament effect is amazing regardless of the selected color. The color is more vibrant than any other RGB bulb I've had, including LIFX and Phillips Hue. It looks extremely unique. From a technical standpoint, the Cync ecosystem and app is one of the better on the market because it works even when the internet is out or when your phone is disconnected from WiFi. They've also baked in support for Matter when it releases. However, these bulbs have very dull white colors so they're best suited to be decorative only and not used for functional ceiling lighting for example. The price is actually extremely good! These bulbs are the cheapest filament style RGB bulb on the market and they cost about half the price of competitors! I adore the design from a technical standpoint and they're a functional novelty for sure.

A little pricey but the edison-like illumination and light show make it worth it
It works with Alexa and the Cync app is pretty good too! Sometimes there is a couple of seconds of lag if you have lots of these bulbs but they will all come on. You can get to an edison-like hue with orange and a bit dimmer than max. But the light shows are where the party is at, my favorite is the aquatic. So if you’re thinking is it overkill to have three of them in your multi-lamp the answer is no, it’s spectacular. If your bulbs are in one group they coordinate and spread the timing of the color alternation. It’s really well thought out and the fact that they are low energy and lower heat than incandescent seals the deal.

Love all the options, easy to use
Put in the bulbs, download the app, easy to follow and play with. I have saved several favorites for colors that I love. I use 3 hanging light fixtures above my kitchen counter. I would take a pic but I feel I can not capture the true coloring. I have 2 different colored pinks saved. A soft teal blue plus a couple others. It does not have colors like silver, black, brown, grey. More of the colors that are thought of in the rainbow with different hughes. Easy to use. I have not played with the lighting to music option or custom lighting shows but there are also preset lighting shows/sequences. Way worth the cost. All three lights linked easily. They work off the same switch. I have not tried it with another location but it seems it will link up easily. . Follow the instructions.
