Q: Does this come with directions?

my order did not but it's about 2 tablespoons per lb of rock- remember you will lose weight as you progress through the steps so you won't need as much on 3 & 4 (about 11/4 to 11/2 depending on the stone). on step two i use the same as 1

It varies per batch number, since each cylinder has a different weight. However, figure ablut a tablespoon per batch. I would guess 28 to 32 batchers.

I've never bought the kit before but I have bought the 2lb single grit container. great product for a great price. kit containers however {at least from my past experience}, are not as heavy as the ones sold individually. I'd say the grit 1 and 2 are each a lb or so and grit 3 and 4 are the rest divided in the kit thus 3.6 pounds. however the rest of the individuals are each 2lbs and thus what is described below in product info. hope that makes sense and helps

Q: Will the final step give my rocks the glassy shine?

It depends on the rocks, the time and skill of the person, the amount and type of filler. Some rocks will never get a glassy shine, some are easy to get a glassy shine. Rocks with cracks in them may need to be broken to get rid of the fracture line etc. If there are not enough small pieces, either rocks, ceramic or plastic pellets it could take twice or three times as long. I would recommend Michigan Rocks video on youtube "8 Common Rock Tumbling Mistakes" Lots of good detail and well presented.
