Very Pleased So Far
I had a thumb joint replacement on my left hand and a brace was required after six weeks in a cast. I am six days out from having the cast removed and have another five weeks where the brace will be necessary. My surgeon provided a universal brace that was huge on my hand, no padding at all so it was also very painful to wear. After two days, I ordered this brace in my size, an extra small, and it fits my hand well. After six weeks in a cast, my hand is not yet flexible enough to be in any other position except the one my surgeon gave me for my cast. That was a concern for me so I was relieved to find this brace puts my thumb in an anatomically correct position. My incision site is still very bruised and painful and my skin is hypersensitive right now. The padding in this brace is pretty good and would do well, I think, if my hand did not have the bruising from my cast and soreness that comes with surgery. I have addressed this by adding a piece of foam to further cushion the area around my incision. I think this will not be necessary once I heal up more, but the brace has adjustable straps that allow for the extra padding and I am comfortable wearing it. To be honest, I was hesitant to purchase this brace because there were a number of negative reviews, but BraceAbility indicated they had updated the brace in 2019 based on those same negative comments. That impressed me because not many manufacturers seem to do that so I decided to give it a try. It appears to me they did an excellent job of addressing the negative issues. This brace has size options and my size fits, it is well-padded and adjustable without a surplus length of straps hanging over. The ribbed, soft fabric that is under the straps could have been a bit longer for me because it didn't quite keep the straps from lying against the top of my hand. Were my skin not so sensitive right now, I don't think it would be a problem. I cannot speak to the longevity of this brace since I have only been using it for a few days. In my case, if it lasts for another five weeks, it will be money well-spent. I will say it appears to be well made and sturdy. If it turns out otherwise, I will pop back and update this review. For now, I have to say this brace is stellar.

Does it job really well- provides support and relief from pain
This brace has been my inseparable companion while I have been on the (slow) path to recovery from De Quervain's tenosynovitis. I didn't expect any brace to provide a miraculously cure, and this device has given me relief when my wrist ached and allowed me to sleep without pain. It is very comfortable to wear and it has provided the stability of the wrist and thumb required for the slow tendon healing process. I ordered a left wrist, small size and the fit has been great. Sure, the tabs are too long and needed to be cut off- but that's a minor, petty complaint. On the whole, this brace has been terrific. Thank you to the designers and craftsmen and craftswomen behind making the Braceability splint

Good thumb and wrist support
I've had thumb surgery on both hands. Not at the same time. And it was nessarry for me to to not use each for about 8 weeks. With the internal steel bracing and 4 Velcro straps it rendered my thumb and wrist virtually immoveable. My only complaint is where the thumb area is connected to the rest of the brace. It leaves a heavy portiuding seam that digs in and becomes very uncomfortable. I shaved away most of the seam with a razor knife and now they feel much better. I thought doing that might cause it to start falling apart, but that hasn't happened. If it wasn't for that heavy seam I would give it 5 stars.

Best one I've tried. Keeps hand sturdy just like a cast would & velcro straps stay put!
The media could not be loaded. If this helps the De Quervain's Tenosynovitis to heal quicker, I'm wearing support 24/7. This is the best one I've purchased, as it's very sturdy. When I have it off, and my wrist moves in a certain way, the pain level can spike. It has a soft neoprene sleeve and the size small fit comfortable for my 15mm wrist. Only complaint is that thumb is so sturdy, it accidentally changes my radio stations while driving since settings are on the wheel. lol

relief pain
This is the second one I bought the first was a medium size and to adjust tightness the velcro barely reached and the material at thumb was to tall covering thumb. I reordered a small before returning the medium to see the difference. I got the small today and fits perfectly. I will keep the medium to use at night or as a spare when I wash the small one.I had to take the shank out of the medium one because it rubbed on thumb below bone by wrist. Didnt make a big difference on restriction of thumb but felt much better. Not sure if I will have to on small size if it will rub but probably will.Over all the brace is great and does relieve pain. It is cumbersome but comes off easy enough to wash dishes or what you need hand for. To not have the pain is worth any hassle. The brace is made really good.My hand is not big thought about medium for a women but small works much better for me.I did get the smaller brace and have worn it several days. I don't think I will have to take the shank out of thumb area on this like I did on the medium size. For me I really like it and I think some swelling has gone down below my thumb bone by wrist. I had surgery on my left thumb 20 years ago and they took out my bone below the thumb so for now I will wear the brace.

Comfortable, but awful velcro closure
This brace has a very comfortable fit. It is supportive and nicely padded inside. However, I am returning it without ever using it, because there is minimal contact for the velcro closure, leaving wide tabs hanging off to catch on things and loosen the brace. The only "grab" portion of the velcro is on the bottom, inside portion of the clasps. The part that you grab to tighten it is the soft side, and the outside edge of the brace has a strip of the same soft side of velcro, so the edge of the strap can't attach there, leaving it flapping out off the side. I have included pictures to demonstrate the problem. It is a disappointing design flaw, because if the straps could be properly secured, it seems like it would be an excellent brace. But as anyone who wears a brace regularly learns quickly, the velcro closure is always the first part to cause problems. This particular brace is doomed from the start and will be immediately returned.

Strong and Durable
Excellent wrist protection- and thumb as well - keeps it still and protects when I bump or bang. This was a great purchase.

Excellent results - Highly recommend!
Due to arthritis I often sprain my hand, fingers or thumbs. If you use for 6 weeks, faithfully, you can repair properly!
