WOW!
Ok, this is a NICE set! Comes in a semi-rigid zipper case which you NEED because this thing is MASSIVE, weighing in at nearly five pounds (4lb 14oz). The pieces are BIG and HEAVY. They aren't joking about the weighting. This is so nice after seeing many wimpy sets which just feel unsatisfying. Even the board is quite heavy, being a thick folded up sheet of floppy silicone that lays perfectly flat on either side and folds up to 1/8 its size for storage without creasing. It's 20" square overall, and the squares are 2 1/4". The markings on the board are permanent and sharp. The slightly tacky feel of silicone makes a great playing surface. The pieces look great and feel great in the hand. Very durable too. And the whole thing should last a long time.Honestly this set is as nice as any I have seen at any price. If I had to search for negatives, the case is just barely big enough for the two drawstring bags of pieces and the folded board. I also have some concern about the (sewn in, with a rubber grip) handle on the case maybe not being strong enough to carry the weight over time. There will also be times that the 20" board is just too big. The silicone playing surface has a typical silicone friction to it which means the pieces stay put, but also means you can't slide them when making a move without picking them up. The felting on the pieces is rather thin felt. It's thicker and fuzzier than really low-quality sets, but a great DIY upgrade might be to add a nice thicker felt pad to each piece.I would grab one of these sets while they're available. They're just that nice. Exceeded expectations in every way and gets all the stars.

The silicon board is phenomenal, the pieces decent but could still use to be heavier for their size
♟️This is described as being quadruple weighted. I'd consider it more along the lines of 2.5-3x weighted (relative to a standard unweighted 3.5" plastic king.) I'd actually like the base of these pieces to be heavier (a total of 90-100g for the 4" king instead of 75g). The pieces are still comfortable to move and relatively stable but aren't sufficiently proportionally weighted in comparison to other weighted sets I've used. ♟️The silicon board is one of the greatest highlights of this set. Unlike a vinyl board that needs to be rolled just right (so it doesn't get wavy and prevent pieces from sitting flat and stable) this board can be crumbled up and tossed down and lies flat easily. You can fold it and unfold it and not worry about obnoxious creases on the board preventing it from lying flat. The board is proportional to tournament standards and has coordinates along the edges for the conveniences of recording your games moves on your score sheets. ♟️The set truly is tournament acceptable. The King has a height within the 3&3/8-4&1/2"range with a base that is within 40-50% of the king's height in width. ♟️While the case neatly holds the included contents, it is marketed towards tournament play. Tournament play requires a score sheet and clock. While I understand this set doesn't include these items, it would be nice if there was a little more space in the case pouch so these items could be slid in and close the case for all-in-one carrying to a tournament. ♟️Overall, this is a very nice set for playing on and transporting.

Beautiful, easy to play chess set
I come from a family of chess players. I haven't had my own set for a while, so when I saw this one, I thought it would be good to have as my own. This set is beautiful! I can't seem to play well on computers because I need the tactile, 3-D effect of an actual board to engage me. This set is very engaging. The pieces are big, not so big that you need an oversized board where you can't comfortably reach the other side, but the pieces feel substantial in your hand. They're weighted really well. They won't fall over, and your moves feel powerful. The felted bottoms are secure. The pieces are of traditional design, so you can easily tell which piece is what intuitively. The board is a standard tournament-type board, but quite durable. It lays flat and the board and pieces are sized well to accommodate one another. Then all this can be organized into a decently sized carrying case. This case is much smaller, better organized, and better quality than I've seen with similar chess sets. Each color of pieces has it's own cloth bag. There is a space for the board which can be folded into it. It's a rubbery plastic case with a very secure handle for carrying it. It can withstand the weight of the pieces, and it's not necessary to cram them in or fit them in just the right way.Everything about this set is traditional, well-designed, and pleasantly tactile. It's a great set to play on, especially if you prefer in person pay to flat electronic games.

Beautiful quality, heavy weighted chess set with case.
This chess set is a 1000%, line for line, curve for curve, height, weight, and style copy of Galen Pyle's Best Chess Set Ever. It is not a close copy. It's not similar. The chess pieces are an EXACT copy. I have the BCSE XL right here in front of me. I have the chess pieces side by side. They are exact copies down to the beautiful satin finish of the pieces. I do like the included Oumoda zipper clamshell case to hold the silicone board and pieces. The BCSE XL did not come with a case.I give this Oumoda chess set 4 stars for it's incredible quality. But I have to knock off a star because it's a knock off of an existing product.

Very nice pro quality chess set.
This is a substantial chess set, for playing important games, or making an impression with whomever you play. The chess set is luxurious in that each piece feels substantial, weighing over two ounces each. The weight is variable from piece type to piece type, but consistent among the same type, IE all pawns weigh about the same. The weighted bottoms give a really nice heft to the pieces and make moving them a pleasure. You will find yourself fiddling with the captured pieces in between moves. The silicon board is very clever, and something I have never seen before. It performs beautifully on a perfectly flat surface. Each square is 2.2 inches, giving plenty of room to survey the game, and allow others to easily observe even from a distance away. The case is just right, and is over four pounds when loaded up with the pieces. You can do light-weight curls with it when you are not playing chess!Five Star Quality Tournament Chess Set
