Exactly what I needed
I was mainly shopping for a noise machine. When I saw that most of them had clock/alarm too I thought that would be good - I could replace the clock on my nightstand rather than add another item to the tabletop. Very happy with this so far, no complaints. I read a lot of reviews of other items before purchasing, so my comments will focus on items that differ between models.Pros:- My primary need was sound machine. This one has 8 choices which is less than some machines, but one of them was fine for me. After a few weeks using it all night every night I never notice when the audio pattern repeats, which is good.- Some have complained about the volume settings on this or other models. I use this on 1 (lowest) volume, which is fine for me.- Time projects onto the wall or ceiling. This is not necessary, but is nice to have. Compared to other models, this one is extremely flexible with a swiveling piece that can place the projected image just about wherever you want (I display it on the ceiling). You can flip the projection vertically to make sure it's right side up wherever you display it. Reviews said that other models have this display feature but with less flexibility so people find it difficult to put the image in a visible spot or to get it right side up. This one does the projector display right.- Display is big and bright without being distracting at night, both on the machine and the projected image. There's a dimmer buttom to make adjustments. Color is nice, appears slightly bluish white.- Indoor temperature sensor is nice.Cons:- Only one slight con but still giving 5 stars. I'm not sure how accurately it keeps time. After only a few weeks I noticed that it's a little farther off of the "official time" on my cell phone than it was when I first set it. When I say a little farther off, it's probably less than one minute off, but I was surprised that it moved enough for me to notice in only a few weeks. Not Used Yet:- Auto-Off Timer- Radio- Alarm- Smartphone holder- USB charging port

NEWEST VERSION
My last one I have had for over 30 years. No kidding. Built to last! This one I love the sleek design! It takes up less room. I still have the same control of brightness and love that I can read it on the device or on my ceiling. This helps me stay asleep. The background noise if prefect when I need something to help me relax or take me away. The performance is exactly what I world expect from an amazing product. I'll have this one for years too!

Good enough - with some caveats
The HoMedics SoundSpa Recharged Sound Machine is a good clock radio. I had a Sony DreamMachine that died after 20+ years of faithful service and was looking for a new clock radio - there are not many options. The speaker (there's only one, pointing out the back) is on the tinny side. The "project the clock on the ceiling" feature - I could live without. The top of the unit has a rubbery mat over the actual buttons - it's possible to hit the right button without looking or being bleary-eyed at 3AM, but you'll probably miss the button you're trying to hit, screw some thing up and have to turn on the light to fix it. The volume levels (they are digital steps, not an analog dial) are too coarse and anything other than 1 or 2 is far too loud for the nature sounds. The backlight has 4 levels, off, bright, really bright and way too freakin' bright. Again - the steps aren't set up for the intended use as a bedside clock radio. You can tone down the back-light with some "dimming sheets" (available on Amazon) Lastly, not a deal breaker for me, but... There is a place to set your iPhone and charge it. BUT - there's no way to listen to your iPhone thru the speaker. HUH??? That doesn't make much sense. The nature sounds are actually quite good (except that they play thru the tinny speaker). But anything other than a volume setting of 1 is too loud.My suggestions for HoMedics -1) Ditch the projector.2) Put in a better speaker.3) Adjust the volume and brightness settings to be more in-line with the intended use - specifically, on a bedside table at night.4) Add an Aux jack (or iPhone integration) so the iPhone stand is actually useful.5) Add some tactile "bumps" or something to the top so controls can be "felt" and operated without looking.6) Add 24 Hour time display. In the current market - there are so few choice, this is about as good as it gets. With some thoughtful re-engineering, this could be a killer clock-radio.

Packed with features at a good price
We've been using Homedics Recharged Alarm Clock & Sound Machine for a few months now. I like to write reviews after having a product for a little while. I saw a few reviews talking about the materials the clock is made of. We've not had any issues and the clock seems to be well built. The clock is easy to program. I really like the fact that it remembers the alarm time and automatically resets it self for the next day. The sound is very good and the radio is easy to tune.Nice selection of sounds with the sound machine. You can set how long the sound plays as you fall asleep and still use the alarm feature to wake up in the morning.I've only used the clock projector a few times. It focuses easily and was easy to see on the ceiling or wall. Also used the battery backup feature. The clock remembers the time and any alarms that are set. What the battery backup will not do is sound the alarm while the power is off.
