Nice idea, bad execution
This pen is neither a good pen, flashlight, or self defense tool. First, the pen and flashlight are engaged by screwing the front and back of the pen to its maximum tightness. If you are not wanting to use the pen or light, you are left with a somewhat wobbly (unsecured?) feeling of both the front of the pen and back. The light is actually not bad, but needs to be activated by tightening the body of the pen. This is a terrible idea as it's super easy for the light to be activated in your pocket or backpack. As for a self defense tool, it's very slippery and the fact that parts of the pen move make it even more dubious and easy to slip out of your hand. I would look elsewhere for a penlight.
