Drill broke within 4 weeks and the worst customer service I have run into in a while
The media could not be loaded. Used the drill press to help me build my son(s) pinewood derby cars for cub scouts. After about 4 weeks of off and on use the spindle bearings started to make noise and then seized completely. I waited a few months before contacting customer service for the company. I had the opportunity to speak directly to the customer care manager who kept on insisting that I give her the order #. I mentioned that I bought it through Amazon and had an order # through them and she then stated that she could not support it and that it did not have any warranty unless I bought it directly from Microlux. I tried a few different angles in the conversation to try and find a remedy to the frozen spindle but to no avail. She was stuck on the fact that I did not have a direct order # from her company and that even though it is their product that failed within 4 weeks they would not do anything for me. So instead of shipping the drill press back to them to get a quote on how much it would cost to repair, I will go ahead and purchase a drill press from another company that actually takes care of their customers and supports their products.

I should have known.........
The one thing I object to is the quill slop, about .010 inches. The spindle is pretty good, but the fit of the quill to the housing is not. I guess if you just want to drill some holes and don't care about where they land, it is ok. The digital readout didn't work at all, it just came up with all sorts of numbers at random, probably because they rely on stable quill position to make the sensor work, and this one hasn't got it. It has quite a lot of vibration, maybe from an imbalanced motor. The variable speed control is not stellar, but ok.

Would Not Recommend
I rarely find the time to write product reviews but I had to for this one. The drill came to me undamaged and was easy to set up out of the box. It was a perfect little drill I was looking for. I was looking to do some very light duty drilling of soft wood. The drill worked great for the first 30 minutes. I wasn't pushing it to its limits by any means. The rack that moves the drill head up and down was a bit rough from the get-go, but I didn't expect perfection from a machine like this. The problem was when I was drilling a 5/8" hole in poplar a bolt on the side of the drill that is linked to the crank/handle that moves the head up and down came off and the spring of the drill head disengaged and the plastic cover popped off. No idea where the missing part shot off to or exactly what broke loose but one minute it was drilling nicely and the next minute the thing blows up on me and the cover blows off. I'd have to find some other box large enough to fit the drill (which no longer fits into the original box due to the spring and head standing too tall) but I don't have the time for that. So, I threw the thing in the dumpster. Lesson learned. Don't buy cheap. If you do buy this drill, based on other reviews, just know that you have, at best, a 50/50 chance of the drill actually working for you. Not very good odds in my opinion. If you're looking for a very small drill to do work on, you'll have to pay up for a nice one. I would not recommend purchasing this drill.
