Easy mod
This was a relatively easy install. There are directions and a video to watch on the page where you buy this. Very helpful. A couple tips. You only have to remove the two right hand screws to remove the back light. I didn't even unplug it as shown. I used a large screwdriver to push in the buttons on the existing gas cap assembly. After undoing the two clips there is a third. Push the assembly towards the back of the car and the old assembly will be able to pull off. After that it is easy. Put the gasket on. Use your old one as a guide. Push on new assembly until it clicks. They give you extra screws if you drop one. Also the top and bottom screws do not need to be removed as they are for show. If you remove these two screws there are nuts attached. Do not loose as you don't get extra of these!!! Looks great.

Be wary of where your pinhole is
*For reference, I have a 2016 Wrangler*I really like this fuel filler door. It looks great, feels sturdy, and was relatively easy to install. As others have said, the most difficult part was probably pushing out the tabs on the original piece. The instructions also weren’t much help, so I recommend watching a YouTube video if you're confused. The one major issue I had with installation was the pinhole on my car vs. the pin location on the fuel filler door. This pin is supposed to go into the pinhole to help with location/alignment and potentially prevent the door from spinning. For some reason, the pinhole on my car is at the top, while the pin on the door is on the left. I read only one other review that mentioned this issue too, so maybe Jeep just messed up on our cars. But if this happens to you too, you can just drill a hole for the pin (I used a caliper to determine the drilling location but a ruler would be fine). However, I have 2 complaints. First, the pin actually broke off. The tabs are tight enough to keep it from free spinning but not so tight that it wont rotate from time to time. I don't anticipate this being a major problem but it was annoying since I drilled the pinhole in hopes that this wouldn't happen. Second, the door rim doesn't actually sit flush with my car. Again, not a big deal but just a little annoying because it feels like it doesn't fit as well as it should.Overall, I decided to keep it because it gets the job done and I like how it looks. I knocked off one star for both my complaints since they're relatively minor, but I will be keeping my OEM piece in case anything happens with this.

Fits as if OEM
The hardest part was removing the original. Also I applied a little vegetable oil on the new rubber grommet to help slide on the metal gas tube worked like a champ. It slipped right on .

Looks nice
Installation instructions could be much better. Overall I'm quite happy with it though. It looks much better than having no door like factory

Nice metal cover
The hardest part of this is getting the old trim cup out of the body otherwise it is a breeze to install some 2016 owners say the pin is misaligned but you can shave it off worked perfectly on my 2012 and as a side note I was not a fan with my setup of the Chrome trim bolts so I painted mine black with ease.

Doe not align or fit properly for a 2015 J/K
The alignment "nib" is at 9 o'clock on the plastic bucket insert. On the Jeep the hole is at 12 o'clock so the new bucket "nib" has to be removed. This "nib" stops the plastic bucket and the door from rotating. with the "nib" cut off the new bucket there is some movement/rotation. The old filler neck to plastic bucket gasket must be re-used since the new gasket is too thick and will cause a check engine light for the EVAP system to come on. I decided not to return this item since I was into the project too far. I would not recommend this product because of improper fitment and gasket. The locking portion seems good ,but no locktight coatings are applied to the fasteners and must be applied by installer. The body to bucket/cover fitment is also poor compared to the non-locking Mopar original gas door. If your looking for a product that will make you swear while installing this is it.
