Havalon Baracuta #127XT Fillet Blades – 5 Pack, Silver

I bought this as soon as I bought the knife. I didn't know how long the blades would last. Ive cleaned lost of fish and I prefer a fillet knife for most game processing. I do like having several spares but this also sharpen very easily with a ceramic rod. They're as sharp as a razor out of the pack and hold their edge long enough to clean 50 or so crappie and take care of a small deer. After that it's time to sharpen or replace. I sharpen all of my old blades at once around the beginning of the year, put them back in their packaging and get ready for trout runs and turkey season.

This is a such a great fillet knife. I already had other Havalon knives and when I got this filet version for Christmas couldn't wait to try it out. We caught a lot of walleyes in Lake Erie this year and this knife came in very useful. The blades are super sharp and when they do dull, it take literally seconds to change them out. Does a very nice job cutting around the bones when fileting. Now with hunting season coming this knife will work nicely for cutting the venison steaks and cleaning out the backstrap around the bones.

After using a fillet knife for 40 years I decided to try the Baracuta and the replaceableBlades. Very impressed with the overall performance and durability of the blades. Used one blade to clean 25 medium sized panfish with no issues, blade remained hair piping sharp. I liked the Baracuta so much I ordered two other styles of blades to expand my Baracuta usage.

these blades are very sharp. They stay sharp for quite a long time, and they are very easy to replace. I really like my knife. The company sends the product immediately when I place an order.

They come individually wrapped in plastic covering-case, then those 5 blades are in a rectangle clear plastic case. The case does not snap shut so doesn't work well for a sturdy case for on the trail or in the woods.ALSO: These Blades DO NOT fit the Gerber Vital Big Game Folder, unless you are willing to grind the center channel back 1mm on each side and down (to make the channel longer) by 1/4". Since no one knew for SURE...I bought these...they 100% for sure DO NOT fit the Gerber vital big game knife out of the package by about 1mm on either inside edge. SO, I did however take a diamond Dremel bit and some wd40, and modified the channel it slides down into and opened it up..now they fit just fine BUT..the very tip of this blade sticks out past the end about 1/8th of inch so, although it will fold in? The end is dangerous..SO..they can be used in knife, just not stored folded up...

Vendor sent the wide blade, not the Filet blade I ordered. No big deal, either blade works great. One time I order filet, next time wide blade. Pay closer attention Vendor!!
