This Beast is a Pig
So this thing is a pig. After a couple of weeks i'm chucking in the towel. It's flaky. Makes a wonderful noise when it finally stops sulking and decides to connect. Doesn't do that very often. Clunky MIDI connector (No USB)From the manual...." 10.2 4-bit Display:While modifying controller settings, most selections are visualized using the 4-bit display. Thisdisplay is made up of 4 LEDs. Clock, hold, random, and sequence. The display showsrelevant information when an edit mode selection has been made. After a few seconds, the display returns the LEDs to their main function. The 4-bit display is shown in the manualwith a graphic showing a set of 4 LED status indicators. represents a lit LED. representsan unlit led. "What's 3 in 4 bit format? Owners are expected to know. What represents what exactly? Doesn't say. And anyway, like I said, sometimes it connects, sometime it doesn't. When this sort of thing has happened in the past I've been told to "Get a Mac" Nah.A hard reset sometimes fixes it but then the DAW (Reaper) gets a little cranky. So I'm just going to reboot....Nothing. Other stuff works. This thing doesn't.Nowhere in the manual that I've found does it tell you the EB is designated UM-1 as a midi device. The manual doesn't even call itself a manual. Instead it's a "Gibbon Pamphlet." Hilarious. What we have here is something that's been released into the world without proper testing. I've unplugged it and put it back in its box to be returned. The feeling of relief is palpable. This piece of techno-wretchedness has eaten hours of my life. Pittsburgh Audio deserve better. Avoid.
