Yes, it works well on glass, and this kintsugi kit is enough to repair many ceramics or glass items, etc. the two mini ceramics in the kit are for beginners to practice.

Q: Is this food grade repair? Like for plates and coffee mugs?

Short answer: NO, it's not food safe. Adding coloring in the form of mica, etc., changes the chemical composition of the epoxy. Long answer: Visbella Epoxy was included in my kit; did not state on package that it is food safe. When cured properly, epoxy is an inert plastic and is generally safe for incidental food contact. Epoxy is not food safe if there is user error during process of measuring, mixing and curing. I would repurpose the mug as a pen holder.
