Great value, performs well
This thing is great for sharpening carbide lathe tool bits for metal cutting. I glued it to a flat MDF faceplate and I use it together with the standard wood-lathe tool rest at pretty low speed, to sharpen carbide-tipped bits by hand. The 320 grit seems about right for this.

Excellent alternative to 6 inch grinding wheels
I discovered this disc a couple weeks ago when I bought a woodworking lathe and needed to sharpen chisels and shape a high speed steel blank. I made a 3/4 inch x 5 3/4 inch plywood disc with a half inch hole as a backing for the diamond disc and put them together on my 6 inch bench grinder. I always have some wheel wobble because the arbor washers are cheap stamped steel. I get rid of almost all the wheel wobble by inserting paper shims at the appropriate places between the washer and the plywood disc, like balancing a car wheel and tire. Since my grinder doesn't have an arbor lock I use a pair of long nose vise grips to lock on to the grinder shaft when I am tightening and loosening the nut. I bought a really nice pair at Harbor Freight for $6 or $7. Locking the shaft lets me keep the washer and plywood disc stable so I can insert the shims exactly where I need them.Figuring out where to place the shims is easy. I clamped a wood block next to the wheel and rotated the wheel by hand so the block touched the wheel at the point of most wobble. Then I slipped paper shims between the washer and plywood disc on the opposite side. It only takes perhaps 2 or three thicknesses of paper to straighten the wheel.I love grinding on the diamond disc. It works fast and doesn't heat up the steel as fast as a wheel and there is virtually no danger of the tool exploding. My grinder is 3,750 rpms which is faster than I prefer, but the disc surface speed is naturally slower towards the center so you can control metal removal in that fashion.

Great diamond disc for the $$$
These diamond discs are great for the price. I have a GRS power hone and at 100 bucks a disc it's extremely expensive. I did have to put a master lap or backer behind the discs or even double them up to get rid of any wobble. All in all they are great discs and I've sharpened many gravers already and the discs are still in great shape. I kostly sharpen carbide tools and some hss to give you an idea of what I'm doing with the discs. I imagine I can sharpen more gravers at 10 bucks a disc x10 than I could on 1 disc at 100. I will buy again when needed. And would recommend.

Great for sharpening carbide lathe tools, gravers, etc
I was skeptical about these at first, but I am completely satisfied. I bought them to run on a slow sleep lapping machine I built - similar to the GRS graver sharpener. I use it for sharpening carbide lathe tools. So far they’ve held up really well, the grit seems uniform, and I’ve been very pleased.I realize they might not last as long as some of the big name ones from Glendo or GRS.. however, given they cost less than $10, and the Glendo ones are like $300 plus it seems well worth it to me!I bought half a dozen of these after trying one out. Love em 🤙

Lapidary wheel
I bought a lot of items to make jewelry for something to do next winter so I've used the one that came with the lapidary equipment and it's easy to use

Use it on a 6 inch bench top grinder to sharpen the wood turning tools.
Mounted on the side of a 6 inch grinding wheel attached to a bench top grinder. It works and put a sharp finish on the wood turning SST tools. I am a beginner with wood turning. Sharping is a new tricks for me. I use to hand sharpening on a flat diamond sheet. This is fast and this wheel is durable. The price is right too.

Works great for welding tungsten (TIG welding) electrodes.
I have this mounted on the side of one of the stones on my bench grinder specifically for sharpening Tungsten electrodes for TIG welding. It's held up very well against such a hard material and I expect it will last for quite a while.
