With the times and trends
If you are interested in being more green and more minimalist then a shipping container home might be an option for you. This book explains the pros and cons of going this route. Also, the author explains all you will need to do planning wise to be up to code. There are lay outs and directions on how to build different features. I think the photos are a great help in visualizing what needs to be done. I think the author covers all the important aspects.

Better info online for free, this book is a joke to any real builder.
If you have ZERO building knowledge, you'll probably gain some insight. If you've ever built anything, you'll realize this book is a waste. With info like, "Those who choose to live in a container should be prepared to live in a smaller space or container." Brilliant! Also, the listed time frames for various phases of construction make no sense, and very poorly hand drawn diagrams, see pics. Lots of editing and grammatical errors too. There is far more info available from Google for free than is available here.Update: This book is hot trash, after fully reading it, it is full of misinformation. The Metric to Imperial conversions are awful ("48sq/ft=.49sq/meters"). There are paragraphs full of talking in circles with alot of suggestions that you look up the info elsewhere. Again, alot of good ideas are listed in the table of contents but there is little actual information included in each chapter.

this is a very detailed book for someone wanting all the details to build a container home. lots of good stuff but way more than what I wanted.

super basic
The book is low budget on the inside; copied material in horrible print. The reproduction of lay-out drawings are barely readable. A VERY CHEAP MADE BOOK

Pictures are hardly visable, super basic info. Will not buy or recommend again.
