Not ideal for a boat
The bell itself is made of brass or stainless, but the rest of the components are magnetic so I didn't want to use any of them on my boat

More of an ornamental bell than a real shipsbell lightweight thickness. Not what I expected
Would not buy again for purpose of a operating vessel bell. Would go to less expensive ornamental bell for home bell than this bell if that is what a person was looking for
