Just used this once so far but I know it's going to be perfect. Used it to scoop English muffin batter/dough into the rings and the wire scraper thingy worked beautifully. I was following Alton Brown's muffin recipe and used 2 #20 scoops in each ring (not overfilling the scoop), but the recipe only made 5 muffins, not 8-10 as written. And they were way too thick and didn't bake all the way through. I did measure the scoop and it's a perfect size 20, so next time I'll try one scoop instead of 2. Simple as that!! Thanks for a great (American made) product!

So I am attempting upgrading all of my kitchen tools to American made. I discovered Vollrath and set about ordering one. Typed "Vollrath disher" into Amazon search bar and scanned the results. Clicked on one and threw it in the cart. A few days later my order arrived. I opened the box grabbed the disher and it felt lite and cheap. I was bewildered because everyone loves these. So I put my thumb on the lever and gave it a push. To my astonishment blood began running down my arm. The edge of the lever was actually so sharp and unfinished that it cut my thumb deeply. At this point I am extremely disheartened and grab the box to write the company. That is when I realized that this was NOT a Vollrath. It looked like a Vollrath and was in Vollrath search results but it was in fact an American Metal Works disher(Made in China). Called Amazon and got a true Vollrath sent out immediately . When it arrived although it looked almost identical to the imposter. You could just feel the quality when I picked it up. I mean it is night and day difference. It has a very smooth action. And best of all I did not need stitches after checking it out. So double check your search results and buy American whenever possible!***UPDATE*** Since I first wrote this review I have been sent the wrong dishers SIX times by Amazon! *See Pics* yes six separate times I have ordered VOLLRATH and been sent China/Korea garbage! I highly suspect that all these negative reviews are from people that got the wrong brand and did not realize it. So my advice has changed from double check your search results to double check your deliveries. The first time I ordered the wrong thing, that's on me. But the other six times I ordered VOLLRATH and got delivered garbage. That is 100% on Amazon!!!

I got this to make cupcakes and muffins. It is high quality, the handle is comfortable, and the lever squeezes smoothly and evenly. Looks very durable and washes up easily. It speeds up my cooking time and ensures accurate baking since it provides consistent size batter in every scoop! I already had a smaller one for making cookies, so am thrilled to have found this larger one. A great tool to have in the kitchen.

Bought this for scooping up uniform balls of cookie dough, and it does just that!! I have bought others in the past that couldn’t handle the viscosity of the dough, and ended up having to throw them away after one use b/c they broke. This had no problems helping me scoop out 12 dozen cookies for the annual cookie exchange!!!

I like that these scoopers are color coated. This size is good for some things. What I don’t like is when I’m scooping ice cream it does not feel study. I’ve worked in bakeries for 35 years and have used my share of scooping tools. But I like the look and feel of it just afraid it will break.

After breaking my third OXO cookie scoop, I knew it was time to go to the next level with my portion scoops. I bought the #20 disher (yellow) because I like my cookies on the larger size, and I've already added more sizes to my wish list. The only downside for me is that I have to push the lever with my pointer finger, because I'm a lefty, but that's something I've accepted as part of my southpaw life. This thing pushes through even stiff dough without an issue. Love it!

Bought to make consistently sized cookies. This will fit 8 large cookies on a half sheet pan.

Bought this item and the thumb lever kept jamming. Ordered a replacement and same issue. Problem is the gears don't align properly with the holes. Now returning the replacement. Disappointing because I have the purple one (3/4 oz) and it's worked flawlessly for years.
