Wonderful teakettle
I’ve been using this tea kettle for about a month now and I’m very pleased with it. For one thing, it’s so attractive! I find the handle to be very ergonomic, the open and close levers work excellent and easily. The handle gets warm, but I don’t leave the kettle boiling away, so I’ve never had to use a potholder to pour. It holds a substantial amount of water, heats up fast. As far as the whistle, I’m not a good judge since I am very hearing impaired and the pitch and tone of a tea kettle whistle doesn’t register well with me. When I see steam coming out of the spout, I turn the flame off. I use a gas cookstove and have had no problems with tarnishing or staining. I always keep the flame low enough so that it is well under the sides of the kettle. I use purified water for my tea, so no chance of hard water or mineral buildup inside the kettle (or inside of me!). The kettle is substantial and is somewhat heavy with water in it, but very balanced and easy to manage. I’m a 70 year old smallish woman with carpal tunnel issues and have no problems with this kettle. No complaints whatsoever with this kettle!

Make sure lid is flush all the way around
Perfect little kettle. Looks good and works as it should. The first couple times I used it the lid snapped in place but wasn’t completely flush on one side so the whistle didn’t work. I realized the lid wasn’t seated properly so now it whistles just fine!

Great Replacement Tea Kettle
My old faithful tea kettle that I've had for almost 20 year lost it's whistle. It was held on with a heat resistant silicone ring, but after all these years, it cracked and the metal whistle fell out. I thought about using it without the whistle but it was starting to show its age, and I have had a whistling tea kettle for as long as I can remember, so I decided to try to find a replacement.I selected this tea kettle based on the reviews I read online. The size is similar to my old tea kettle and has a handle and spout that work the same way. It looks great on my stove but it seems to take a little longer to boil the same amount of water as my old tea kettle. It may be the material. Not sure. The only real disappointment I have is that the whistle. The sound is pretty wimpy compared to my old tea kettle, which had a robust, loud whistle. No doubt about it when the water was boiling in my old tea kettle. But this one has a very faint whistle that never really builds up to a loud whistle. And it is a rather scratchy sound. Not melodious at all. I do hear it and know when the water is ready, but I wish it were a little louder and a little nicer to listen to.Despite the wimpy whistle, I would recommend this tea pot. It looks great, it's well balanced and easy to handle. And it does what it's supposed to do... boil water!

Charming Design, Moderate Heat-Up Time
This kettle has a classic feel and whistles loud enough to catch your attention without being shrill. The handle is comfortable to grip and doesn’t overheat. It does take a bit longer to boil compared to some smaller kettles, but it’s perfect for tea drinkers who love a timeless kitchen piece.

DANGEROUS if you are counting on it to whistle.
Extremely disappointed. I bought this beautiful kettle because I'm hearing impaired. It was on my stove for over 30 minutes and it almost ran dry and never whisteled once. I could have burned my house down.

Husband uses this everyday nice whistle quick heat
Bought this for my husband as he wanted to heat his tea water on the stove and not in the microwave- this tea pot is great- looks nice and has a loud whistle when water is ready. Love the quick open button as well. Looks nice- lightweight and easy to use and pour the hot water. Great value. Been using for a while and no issues. Easy to clean and durable for multiple uses. Love the two tone look as well. Def give this a try.

BEST TEA KETTLE I HAVE EVER HAD!
I have been purchasing/using tea kettles for over 60 years, so I speak from experience! This is BY FAR the best tea kettle I have ever owned. I have had it over a year now, using it almost every day, and it looks as new as the day I got it. It meets ALL of my key expectations: it looks beautiful on my stove, the whistle is loud and clear from the next room, it is easy to fill and pour, the handle never gets hot (eliminating the need for a potholder), the water boils within minutes, and it is super easy to keep clean. If people are having trouble with the strength of the whistle, it may depend on the amount of water they are boiling, maybe too much or too little. There are two amounts I usually boil, and for me the whistle is always strong. I can't believe anyone is having trouble with rust, as it is made of stainless steel. I just looked and see absolutely no signs of rust on mine. I do follow the instructions to keep the kettle empty of water between uses, so that may make a difference.I just bought another one for a friend - I totally recommend this kettle to everyone!

Looks Great and Works Great
1) Follow the instructions - DO NOT PLACE GAS HEAT ON HIGH!!!!Placing gas heat on high will (flames beyond base) get the handle VERY HOT and possible melt any plastic on the pot...2) Enjoy the kettle - Whistle is loud when water is boiling.3) Looks better than the picture....
