I bought this last May for a Christmas gift. At first we thought the light in the base didn't work. After figuring out that there is a tiny sensor that goes first, then the batteries, the base lit the globe perfectly! My husband loves the solar system desk ornament! Great gift!!

The idea is great. The ball is awesome: beautifully made, looks great; unlimited educational value. BUT: the light stopped working immediately. and without it, the ball looses half its usefulness and charm.Update: amazing customer service. After reading my initial 1 star review, they immediately sent me 2 replacement bases. Got them within a day. They work beautifully, the light changes, the magic is back.

This crystal ball was ordered as a prize for work. The base had some sort of issue and the lights wouldn't work properly. I contacted the vendor and they immediately sent out a replacement, which remedied the problem. Great customer service and the crystal ball is beautiful when lit up. Nice quality, and comes in a gorgeous box. Great gift idea for anyone.

I absolutely love this clear crystal ball showing a tiny colorful mini model of our solar system inside it. It can spin on it's crystal base (when you gently spin it with your fingers) which is so much fun to watch. This is an excellent gift item for anyone of any age, by the way!On the other hand with this product, I did not like the batteries at all! First off when trying to set the thing up, the button cells fell out of its base and I had trouble getting them to lodge in securely. They hardly would light up the ball and its base for that matter. These button cell batteries are about the size of your pinky's fingernail! They went dead after only a short number of days inside it. I just bought a small LED light base for small crystals sculptures on Amazon which plugs into an AC outlet and it works perfect for me -The solar system ball lights up great! They sell these LED crystal base lights on Amazon just for info and, I'd highly recommend it for this item over the included batteries - which are total junk in my opinion.In all, I give this 4 stars for the high quality crystal ball on its base BUT not 5 stars because of the poor batteries.

This is a beautiful item! I just wish Pluto was included in the planets.

No issues on shipping. The overall quality of the product was not as good as I was expecting for the $. The black lines or orbits of the planets were faded in spots. Not nice dark full solid lines like you would want to see, It is also very easy to see that this was two separate halves just put together and you could even feel the seam along the outside of the ball. Finally, the light is very faint and doesn't really do much for the appearance of the ball and would also be a much better design if it was a usb type hook up instead of battery. With all that being said, it still does look cool enough for me to keep it and not send it back. I have it on display in my home and I like it a lot, I was just expecting a higher quality item than what I received.

The design and size in the crystal ball is really good.

I bought one for my wife.. it was so cool with the planet’s and colors I have to have one for my office. I don’t write many reviews but I had to do one for this. Very giftable any one would enjoy this . One of the best items I have bought on Amazon
