A really sturdy sensor made to last, it’s a lot smaller than I expected it to be so it’s not much of a deterrent as you’d expect but with it having a 8m range that’s not an issue, it works really well on my drive as it’s about 6m wide and connecting it was really easy via the mobile app!

Steinel Motion SensorI ordered the anthracite version of this, I must admit I'm not too keen on the anthracite coloured plastic body, I'm thinking that maybe I should have ordered white. Having said that, once this is installed you would never know what it's made of at a glance. The sensor body measures 11.5 x 11.5 x 5.8 cm (with the mounting plate attached).There is a quick start guide provided that gives instructions on how to install this. The back plate is wired and fixed to the wall first, then the main body is attached to the back plate, a fixing kit is also included in the box.Once in place this will provide a 180° detection range, so no matter what angle you approach this from your movement will be detected, any lights that are connected will switch on. The 180° detection angle is very handy, some motion detectors will only detect movement from directly in front and perhaps slightly to the left or right.It is safe to mount this in a porch or somewhere outside provided it is not going to be flooded with water. The sensor is rated IP54 which means: Protected from limited dust ingress and protected from water spray from any direction, so this should withstand being placed on an outside wall.It does appear that there is an app available that can be downloaded to help you adjust the sensor settings. I could find no mention of this in the box, it was only by chance that I spotted printed on the box 'Settings only via app'.Overall this should work as expected, I haven't had the chance to install and test this for myself as a certain amount of household wiring would need to be changed for me to do so.CONTENTS:1 x Motion Sensor1 x Mounting Back Plate1 x Fixing Kit1 x Quick Start GuideThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

This Steinel Bluetooth Motion Sensor IS 180 Digi arrived boxed with user/quick start guide and mounting kit.I have it in anthracite, it looks simple, stylish and modern when mounted on the wall.The measurements are exactly as per listing description - the sensor is about 11.5 x 11.5 x 5.8 cm when mounted.Feels well made from a good quality materials, sturdy and durable.It has 180° detection angle - 3 zones and about 8m reach, what in more than enough for me.In order to connect it and adjust/personalise settings I had to install an app on my mobile phone, what was fast and easy to do.Great sensor, well made, seems to be accurate, so I would happily recommend it.
