Never been easier to spool and track how much line
Great gadget. I've used it to spool all 4 of my KastKing reels. It works well as expected. The line counter is great. It allowed me to accurately gauge how much mono backing I was putting on to make sure my spool was full but not bad to buy 1000 yards of braid. . It fits all my rods easily, from 8ft catfish stick to a little ultralight. And worked for my spinning and casting reels.

Nifty gadget; wish it was made with higher quality feeling components
I fish recreationally mainly in freshwater lakes and unfortunately, not as often as I'd like so I wasn't sure if I needed something like this. Ended up getting one to try it out. The instructions have good pictures and instructions but you definitely need to read them to understand how to use this properly. All the functions worked fine. I just wish that it felt a little less cheap since it's all pretty much plastic. Practical use I can see with this is for dialing in what I put onto my reels and making sure I don't get the line twisted while spooling. I'm not really changing out lines on reels that often so only time will tell if the initial cost to buy this will give me enough utility long-term to justify it but overall, I like how it helps you be more capable of setting up without having to ask somebody to hold the spool on a pencil as you fill up your reel.

It really works
Do it!!! Easy to follow instructions and worked as advertised. I thought for sure I was going to get a chuckle at some piece of junk but this passed ALL expectations..DO IT!!!

I was skeptical but it really does work
I've never liked the "stick a rod through the spool" method for spinning reels. No matter how I try I simply can't get the line on without twist. I always took my reels to a sporting goods store to have them filled by an employee on an electric line winder. Last time I went I got a kid who didn't know how to use the machine and the line went on crooked! Instead of the edges being straight they were slanted to one side. Wind knot city. I ended up having to strip off and throw away $20 worth of braid.I was looking around for a home version of an electric line winder, but the only ones out there are hundreds of dollars. So for around thirty bucks I figured I'd give this thing a shot. It's a bit fiddly to set up and you need to keep track of all the parts but once you've done it a few times it's really easy. After about the third reel it took me longer to tie the knot joining the backing to the braid than it did to set it all up and get the line on. Not sure how accurate the line counter is, but I can live with that.

Well designed, but counter not good for braid
I bought this because the specs looked great ... clamps on rod, holds filler spool, works with spinning and casting reels, adjustable line tension, a line counter, and reasonably priced.I was excited to receive it ... 'tis the time of the year to check, reverse or renew the line on the rods... I have a dozen or so.I started with my new rod and reel, a light bass/panfish rod, and was eager to spool up some of the 8 carrier, super slick, premium braid I'd purchased. The line spooler was easy to attach to the rod. Loading the filler spool is a bit tricky to get the half turn spool holder through the hole in the line spooler, but it worked as directed. Spinning/bait caster setting filler spool direction setting is clearly marked (although I fail to see how one position is better than the other). The tension band fits the filler spool easily, but is a bit tricky the first few times to get the line through the eylet, biut gets better with practice. The metal guides for the line counter allowed the line to get behind them, and getting the line freed can be frustrating. The counter off/on is easy to engage. The counter reset does not zero the counter numbers in the viewing window. I mounted my reel, attached the line and started filling the reel. The counter number window is small, and the numbers are not easy to see when filling a reel. .. which was not a issue, as the counter doe not work reliably, with 10 lb braid, which is slick and thinner than a human hair. Ok, it is really fine line. So, I tried spooling up the 20 lb premium, 8 carrier, super slick line for my larger spinning reels. Same issue with the counter .. unreliable to completely dysfunctional. The counter does work with larger 20 lb mono filler line .. but is still hard to see, and the zero is offset on reset, so the hundreds digit is sort of in between. I ended up using my old, but reliable, clip on line counter to measure my fill lengths. At high tension levels, the filling is quite jerky. I did not return the item -- it has problems .. the unreliable to useless line counter (and the line behind the guides problems), the balky filler spool shaft, and the jerky filling.... Thus the 3 star rating for a product that falls short of expectations in several ways, but the unreliable, balky, cheap feeling line counter is the primary issue.

No more line Twish
This is a big improvement over the ordinal line spooler from KastKing line spooler. Works great with both bait caster and spinning reels. It is simple to use. The KastKing Kalibrate fits any rod and spool sizes 3.5” wide by 4.5” diameter. It does away with line twist. This is going to be perfect for spooling new reels. KastKing has release another great product. I highly recommend you get this one.

Great for spooling line on reel, not so great for counting
This is a great tool for loading line (6 pound monofilament) on your spinning reel. Let’s you set tension so line goes on even, and loads the spool nicely. No need to have someone else help keep mono spool from being too loose, or getting tangles. Just clamp on your rod and load. However, the counter doesn’t really work. There’s a tiny plastic wheel inside that the line is supposed to sit on, and as you reel in the line, it counts the feet of line you’ve loaded. The line won’t stay on this wheel, and the wheel is loose enough that it wobbles back and forth. I bought this so I could see how much line I actually load onto each reel, so it’s too bad it doesn’t work well. I’m keeping the tool anyway, as it really does help load line on evenly.
