Highly recommend this product, not salty at all because I don’t use salt. The taste is amazing the lemon bursts in your mouth… I just love it and I use it on my flatbreads if I’m not using Za atar!

I had a hard time finding fresh sumac in any stores around me, and decided to give this one a try. So far, I love it! It is tasty and seems very fresh, it is more soft and hydrated to the touch than the one you would find in stores otherwise. The other ones I tried were very dry so you could tell they must be less fresh. Also it is mildly fragrant and has a tangy taste like it should. I recommend!

I use this sumac powder for salads, and it has always been wonderful and fresh. I am a frequent customer, because it gives a good salad the extra brightness to make it a great salad. Another reviewer perfectly described it as adding lemon freshness but also a roasted flavor. There is no salt in this packet, just beautiful deep purple sumac berries ground to a nice powder. It is a high quality product. I have also used this company’s Aleppo pepper, and that too is an excellent product.

Very satisfied, wish I could give it a 4.5, because of the two things mentioned at the bottom I'm not giving it a 5. I love the flavor, and it seems fresh and potent. I will definitely purchase again unless I find one that has all of the qualities of this one plus the two things I mention at the end. I appreciate very much that it's not irradiated, is non GMO, and has no additives. The only things that would make it better are if it were organic and was available in larger quantities.

I like that this sumac has no salt. It came quickly and meets my needs.

So great to use

I looked for this in 3 major grocery stores, 1 of which has a very impressive spice collection, and couldn't find it. The employee for this section had never heard of it and I needed it for a Lebanese kibbeh recipe I wanted to try. I'm glad I didn't make it until I ordered this from The Spice Way via Amazon. The flavor is amazing and has a bright lemony quality but is so much more than that. The resealable bag contained a spice that was very aromatic and slightly moist - no sawdust here. I now use it on my grain recipes for a nice, fresh flavor. To me there is no substitute for sumac.

As I was reading through many of my middle Eastern recipes that I have set aside I noticed many call for Sumac, I do not have a Persian market very close to why home so I went to Amazon and found The Spice Way - Pure 100% Sumac, No Salt, no GMO, no Irradiation, Spice Seasoning Powder 2 oz. The freshness and quality impressed me and I will order from The Spice Way again.
